Well....she made it!!  Gram turned 100 years old on April 22nd!  We had two parties...a big one on Sunday before her day and another small one on her actual birthday.  She's still talking about how much fun she had and all the love that she felt.

WOW! what milestone.  Set her down and get her talk abaout all she's seen capture that history now before she's gone.  Its hard to get them talking but usually once you get them started they forget about the recorder and off they go. I have several of these tapes of members of my family.,..they are priceless.

That's a fantastic milestone, and I think you certainly captured her emotions.  The pictures seem to show someone who has a zest for life.  Thanks for sharing Gail.

    thanks guys!

there seems to be a problem with the links.  two of the pictures show up the same...the one that doesn't show up is my favorite!  that's not how they are uploaded on my dashboard....oh well!

ashton...i've been working on my family tree and have been picking her brain about her life.  she's still very sharp.  each time we talk it sparks another memory for her to share.

I love the one of her leaning over the cake.  we also have some video of my grandpa before he passed, telling stories about the war....really great stuff.

She sure doesn't look like what I think of as being 100--what a blessing to reach that age and still be 'functional' if that makes sense.

I like the softness of the glow from the candle on the last one and then the one where gram is where her tiara...way to go.

    - Blessings

I went to your profile and I agree, the shot that didn't show up is fantastic, a beautiful portrait of a happy centurion that will be treasured. Congratulations to your Gram.
