Went for a walk today and saw all kinds of things. A great blue heron looking for breakfast.Picasa A sparrow hawk soaking up some sun.100_1756 And then I spotted this little bird just singing it's little heart out. I think it's a lark.100_1782 As I came into the trees I looked up and this great horned owl was keeping it's eye on me.100_1805,100_1801,100_1808 On my way home I was blessed to see a bald eagle. 100_1852 ,100_1850  Not to bad for a early morning walk.

  • I like your photos, and I can see you are a true nature lover.  The photo of the Horned Owl was my favorite.  I would love an opportunity like that one.  I have only seen one, in my life, and didn't have a camera.  Maybe next time.  Nice Shooting !!

  • Very nice birding.  I like the comp. of 1852 the best, but it seems a bit pixelated (or over sharpened one, I can't really tell).

  • Great walk with great captures. Loved the owl. They are so regal.

Reninds me of the day after my father-in-law passed away. An owl appeared on the back porch and stayed most of the day. An old native american legend says the departed ones spirit appears as an owl soon after the passing. I truly believe this happened and my father-in-laws spirit came back and spent some time with us.
