OOOOOoooo! I love the angle in the first shot. It really makes the shot interesting. And the amount of sky around it seems just right for me. Enough visual room to breath. Very nice, Jaime.
As for the second, it's good. Nice comp. and light (lovely light in fact). I just wish there were more DOF so that the... base (?) were in focus. My eyes are drawn to that first and thus leaves me searching for a brief moment for the actual focus (the seeds to the right). This is, of course, being nit-picky. But critique never hurt anyone ;-)
I love the first shot, great angle and detail. Love the color of the sky. The second one is good too, I like the way the seeds to the upper right shine. :o)
Thanks everyone. I had to pick the dandelions and hold them up to the sky to get the blue background. I wasn't stoked about the idea of picking it...but they turned out really well.
Critiques are always welcome and appreciated. There are lots here in New Mexico so I'll see if I can re-work that shot.
Yeah... I've done it. I wasn't happy with the shots I was getting with it sticking out of the ground. I wanted the light to shine through it, not on it so I picked it. But really, it's no different than picking flowers from a garden, arranging them in a vase and then taking pictures. It's like a mini still life in nature. And you're not making a deceptive narrative but an artistic thought. So it's all good.
Those are terrific, especially the first one. I am seeing these as dandelions - why is everyone saying don't pick them??? It's a weekly job at my house :-)
