I spent some time with my camera at my favorite spot yesterday. I believe the bird posted is an Eastern Phoebe, let me know if that is not correct...
As I walked up to the creek I saw a fawn very close by. I laid down in some tall grass just after I came up. I went down to where I saw him lay and he was all curled up in a ball. I didn't get to close...I didn't want to disturb him or upset his mother. He looked to be, to me, not more that a few days old. I found a spot to sit and watch to see if he would get up. After about an hour the mom returned to check on him. She was very close to where I was and I could have gotten some close shots of her but didn't want to scare her off. The baby got up when he saw her. The mom just walked off again and the baby ended up laying back down. I guess she was just coming to check in on him. I felt kind of sorry for him when she just walked away because he stood there looking after her like he was wanting to go with her. I was thrilled to be able to see such a young one and his/her mom.

Those shots of the fawn are so nice. Not everyone can get that close to them. Job well done.
