Long time no see...I don't have anything for the challenge, but I'm hoping this story works and gets posted....new system takes a little bit of getting used to.....

Anyhow, these are from a street fair that took place in San Francisco over the weekend.  It's an annual event called the "How Weird Street Faire".  People attending are encouraged to come in costume and, this being San Francisco, you see all sorts of costumes.  I have plenty of color images, but some of them worked best in black and white.  My intent was to make them gritty and contrasty and 'street'.

It's been a while since I've had the opportunity to do any street shooting.  This was actually kinda fun.

ps.  where is the preview button in this new format?

Okay, I see how this works now....I was just dragging and dropping the images.

  • Hi Fuzzy1,

Take a look at the "post your comment" window down here. See that button that says "Images"? Click on that in your story (here too) wait a few seconds and you will see thumbs. Click on any one and the link gets posted. You have to fool around with it a bit to get your text and no extra boxes with the arrow, but it works well once you get the hang of it. Hit the edit story button on your story (lower part) and you can then edit what you did. That part makes it a preview for your story as well.

Oh, the drop down window like the old one, that puts your thumb in and check one of the boxes below it or it won't show up.

  • You got it now! the preview is the published view, then you can edit whatever you don't like from there just as you did with the popups.

They sure are "street".  Good photography, now you can be paparazzi.

  • Love them in b&w.  I'm sure the color is fantastic but the tones in the b&w are fabulous.  It does give it more of the "dirty street" feel, but I think a little grain might add more to it.  They feel a little too polished for that effect.  But anyway, love the comp of the first one and glad to see you over here every once in a while.
