Yesterday I Drove Down To Cape May, NJ To Help And Work With The NJ Audubon's Spring Shore Bird Migration Count. These Birds Have Just Arrived From South America Where They Spend The Winter Months. Cape May Is A Major Stop Over And Resting Place For These Birds. They Will Spend A Few Weeks Here Feeding And Resting Before Continuing On To Their Summer Breeding Grounds In The Arctic. These Birds Will Return To Cape May In Late Summer To Feed And Rest Once Again Before Flying Down To South America To Winter. It Was An Awesome Day Working With These Amazing Birds....NATURE RULES!!!

poor thing doesn't look disturbed by the trauma. Isn't it amazing how these small creatures can fly those huge distances without maps or nav-aids? I can't drive 50 miles without my GPS or at least a map. There is a little bird that waits for the right weather system out of Canada and then takes off toward Africa in order to go to South America. Knows more about the winds aloft and the weather effects than I do. Course that's not saying much.
Thanks for the education Rockadee.
