OK, so only 5 comments on the roses I posted over the weekend.  Let's try something different to pique your interest, (I hope)

Surf_Fishing
Beach parties
The Walkers
Sebastian Inlet
The_approach

Most of these were taken at Playalinda beach.  We usually wind up there after shooting birds in the Refuge.

Comments and critiques encouraged.  Enjoy

good shots, nice comps on all....you could have cut back on the color on the WALKERS.

  • Great shots!! ... Wonderful angles and composition!! ...

But I do have to agree with chef a couple shots had just a tad two much color (I recenly did the same thing with some desert shots ... chances are that desert plants aren't a vivid green!) ...

Where were you when you took Beach Parties? ... It almost looks like you were up to your neck in water in the Atlantic Ocean!!

By the way ... That's a great thumb!!

I had the same thought about Beach party too! Good shooting lovely shots! I too feel some are a tad over saturated but that is a minor thing!!

  • Ok, so I know it's not your fault that the people's umbrellas were red in the first two shots but I'm gonna tell you to be wary of spots of red in a shot.  It's the most eye grabbing color and a lot of times distracts from the focal point of the picture (unless, of course, it is the focal point).  Like I said, it's not your fault just keep it in mind while shooting.  It's more of a problem in Surf Fishing than in Beach Parties.

That being said, I really like the last two.  Espeically the last one.  There's something very expectant about the shot and you captured the emotion of "the approach" very well.

Sebastian inlet for me! The colors are more muted and the composition is great...its hard not to get beach shots oversaturated on sunny days...maybe try shooting toward sunset or sunrise....wish I could be there too!

  • I'm inspired... we're heading for the beach in about a month. Can't wait, and btw, love the pics. I can almost hear the wind and waves in your pictures... and sea gulls calling to each other!

    - go take some pictures you

I think maybe 3 and 5 are a tad bit too over-saturated.  Composition is lovely on all of them.  I see what EMF is saying about the red umbrellas in the first two, but I don't think that it really detracts from either of these.  Nice job...

Thank y'all for looking.  Agree that some are oversaturated, was trying to compensate for an overcast day.  I'll work on them and repost.
