Our area was one of the many spots in the worlds that have had events change the way you think about everyday things. From tornadoes, floods, earth quakes, fires and the list goes on, the list of horrible events that change peoples lives. We were very lucky....do to the many brave men and women who fight fires. Only 74 homes lost and one life. It could have been so much worse. Here are only a few of of shots taken yesterday and at the start of the fire.Humblot fire

Thanks to all you  brave firefighters...

  • Nice job of documentation Chef.  Some very well done shots there.  But sad to see--I always think of bunnies and other little animals all toasted and without homes too.

  • Your link wouldn't open for me, so I went to your dashboard.  Excellent coverage.  I could almost smell the stench.

  • Speaking of the quality of the shots isn't the whole story when you are documenting something. You are doing more than just exercising style; you are trying to be honest about what you are witnessing. Not everyone can do it, especially if you are close to the action, as you are.

Being objective, yet creative, and still packing as much impact into each image is what makes you a great documentarian.

I'd try to do what you did, but I'm guessing I wouldn't do as well.

  • Excellent documentary Chef, and I echo was Bogus Exception said.  I don't think I could have handled this as well as you did.  I also agree that firefighters are this nations unsung heroes.

Glad you are safe.  Those fires are so scary. I have been through several myself.  Great shots, like everyone has said above. I will keep your town and the people  in my thoughts and prayers.   :o)
