I was in Seoul Korea over the weekend and photographed a man in a local park feeding the birds. He had them eating out of his hands and he just made a fantastic subject to photograph. Birdman_1
Wow, I'm reminded that it has been some 58 years since I was in Korea with the 1st Marines. Under the command of the famous "Chesty" Puller, the 1st Marines pushed the North Koreans out of the city and turned it back to Sigmund Rhee. I joined the 1st Marines shortly after that. Puller earned 5 Navy Crosses (2nd only to the Medal of Honor) and retired a LtGeneral (3 stars), now deceased.
You may have walked in some famous footsteps, DAZ.
Thanks Andrea for your comments. Mr Quackers - i knew that comment was going to come from someone lol!!
Colbb - I just might have! Had I known you had been there before I might have asked for a few pointers on what to see, but I guess things would have changed a lot since then too. I actually thought that you may have wandered this way when I was sitting down outside a pub having a nice cold beer discussing the history of the place with my mate. We wanted to get upto the DMZ but never had the time.I'm off to Gallipoli, Turkey at the end of next month to visit the battlefields of the ANZACS from 1915. I am realising a lifelong dream. Should get plenty of shots there!
What an exciting time you must be having..I like #3 the best--can see the birds on his hands, the first two could not tell what was there...and in the last one also like how you actually caught him 'studying' the birds.
- come over for lunch
