TRUMP NATIONAL GOLF CLUB

I drove by the Trump golf course in Rancho Palos Verdes today, and  my camera jumped right out of the car, requiring me to chase it down and take a few shots.

"The Donald" claims to be the designer of his jewel, but in fact he bought the course after one of the holes fell into the ocean, repaired and upgraded it to its present state.  Trump claims his intention is to make his course better and more famous than Pebble Beach in Carmel, CA.  Fat chance, says I, but it is a beauty.

If one has to ask how much are the green fees, you probably can't afford it.

For starters, how about a driving range with a million dollar view: TD1

A long view of a major portion of the course: TD2

Closeup of the clubhouse area: TD3

Some of the homes with golf course and ocean views, priceless: TD4

Oh well, back to the Camp Pendleton and Navy base course for me.

With views like that, I might be temped to take up the game.  Lovely shots, glad you were able to catch your camera (it obviously knows where to go!)

Oh what's $375 for a round of goof on a lovely Sunday afternoon!

Great shot of some great views.

How much is the greens fee on base these days?

I guess I'll have to stick to the windmill and the clown's mouth at the local miniture golf course...$8.00    Good and clean shots of a place of higher tastes.

Beautiful place!  Great views.  Thanks for sharing it with us. :o)

I have to play that course.  I think thru the week there are bargains @ $175.  I've had a lot of friends play the course and they say it is spectacular.  Hard to concentrate on golf with all the beautiful scenery.  I love your shots.

I would say Palo Verde comes in 3rd behind Pebble Beach & Torre Pines.  Haven't played Pebble yet but it's definitely on my 'bucket list'.  Again Great Shots!!!!

I think "the Donald" is reaching when he says it rivals Pebble, but it is a beautiful course. Nice shots, thanks for some golf on my Tuesday afternoon!

    - See, shoot, shoot again.

vaphotoman, the base fees at Pendleton & Navy (Los Alamitos, CA) are on a sliding scale.  Very low green fees for enlisted ranks below Staff Sgt, and highest for Colonels and Generals.  The last time I played at Pendleton with the wife, the entire cost for green fees with cart was $46.00.  The Navy course is very similar.  A very good deal I think.

colbb --> Does this look familiar?  I think it costs $30 to play as a guest.Navy Golf Course

The view is spectacular and you have shown us a great 'taste' of the course, but then it looks like it might be a very difficult course to play.  The water is gorgeous backdrop.

Buckmiester, I sure do remember that hole, #9 I think, the signature hole of the Destroyer course.  I have lost more than one ball there, an intimidating par 3.  The Navy course has gone public now, and sports a new club house and banquet/party facilities.  Active and retired military still get first shot at tee times.  Semper Fi.
