Hello all...I know I have bored some of you with my dream vacation coming up (I am heading to Colorado for a week), and while on this trip, I hope to capture some really cool images. I am taking my medium format, my digital (a small armada of lenses) and on and on, yada-yada-yada. In any case, leading up to this trip I have been practicing my landscape skills as well as post-production techniques. During this practice period... I have started putting together a technique (if you will), that would help set my images apart from every other person taking pictures of buildings. Some of my other photographer friends dig it, others, well lets just say there are some who have less than positive things to say. So with all of that said, here are some images I did in this technique (I am referring to it as Photografix) .... please let me know what you think...

Short North Train

Short North Arch

Marsellas

Color Doors

  • I guess I don't see what you are trying to achieve (tho' I think the label photografix is clever).  The one that most appeals to me is the color doors, but it looks like the building is about to fall over.  Maybe the distortion is deliberate to make it pop art . . . I just don't quite get where you're going with it???

  • Pictures are composed nicely, colors good.  What more do you want?

Good job on train, i had to look a couple of time before figuring out it was a mural.

  • I like the captures and the fact there are no people in what would seem to be a busy area.. although they seem to be a little flat.. maybe punch in some brightness or some contrast imho..

    - take a pic it last longer

  • For whatever reason when I saved them as JPEG the colors went a little dull on me, (I know, its a poor musician who blames the instrument). In any case, I am not sure if you can pick it up from these shots, but there was an effect I made using photoshop to give it a look of a combination of photograph and illustration. Sorry I was not more clear about it, I will see if I can add a better example of it, perhaps a B&W image....
