From Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery on Point Loma, I enjoyed these views of San Diego and the Navy Sub Base.

Looking across San Diego Harbor and the North Island Navy Air Station to the San Diego skyline:  SDH

Directly below one can see portions of the Sub base:  SDH2

Crop of previous shot shows sub being tended alongside one of the piers:  SDH2a

  • Memories.  I spent many a chilly evening walking in circles on North Island.  It was a 100 yrs ago and things have changed mightily but those days at boot camp & RM school will be indelibly etched on my mind forever.  Thx for the memories.

  • I did boot camp there as well (rode boomers, though, no fasties!), and went back there on business last year-but I never had such a spectacular view from the Sheraton!

Way to take advantage ot it!
