The first is a pine tree limb.
The second is the hind legs and tail of a donkey???????

My thoughts also about being a pine tree but then after looking and trying to figure out what the color is, do not think it is from a pine tree. And the second one does look like hair of an 'animal'

The first I agree. I think it is white pine or scotch pine.
The second I say is the front end of a pony and that is his/her mane hanging down.

Too easy for you guys. #1 Knotty Pine, but pine alone would have been enough. #2 the hind end of a black cat.
I bow to the guessing and posting abilities of all here. I am humbled by my total lack of ability to place this game with any pazazz. :)
