The following photos were taken in Greenbrier. It was one of the late afternoons after doing family time that I was able to escape to try my hand at some photos. I hope you enjoy them!

  • I like. The shutter speed was perfect, you even picked up the mist from the rough water. Exposure to me was very good.

    - So shoot already!!

  • This is in my neck of the woods..enjoyed all, the last one especially when it opened for viewing it felt like 'Mist" if that makes since. Beautiful area to visit..in the first one like how you have 'stopped' the water, I think that is what my sister calls soft....

    Luved the first! Vibrant colors and clarity, looks like you might have used a filter. Your eye follows the water through the image..nice comp and dof! shutter speed is right on, one more stop and the highlights would be blown out, you nailed it!

  • I love it. I always love and water with green forest photos. These are well done.

    Would like to know what settings you used to take the photos, and did you use a filter on the lens?  ;)

  • I do like these! What kind of PP did you do? It looks somewhat HDR to me.If so, it was done very well...if not...cracking shots!! They really pop!

    Agree with everybody.  The softness of the slow shutter water against the crispness of the trees and leaves is a very beautiful effect.  Well done.

    All photos were shot with a polarizing filter. Settings were:

    GB1 = 4 sec. @ f18 ISO 200 EV -0.33

    GB2 = 4 sec. @ f20 ISO 200

    GB3 = 3 sec. @ f18 ISO 200

    Took a little over  100 pictures and posted the three best from this particular location. Tried a lot of different combinations (aperture and shutter). Main adjustments (brightness, contrast, saturation, fill light, and white balance) done in Adobe Camera Raw of CS3. In CS3 tweaked the reds in the first and applied a slight sharpening to all three.

    - With the right bait...

    THanks for the shooting info.  I don't shoot in RAW, yet, and use Elements, but much of what you mentioned can be done there.  Still have a problem keeping too many to "work on" but 3 out of 100 sounds about right.      Don't 'cha love digital......hehehe
