Catching up on some of what we've been doing during our absence:

We took an eco-trip on the St. Johns River: St. Johns River Purple Gallinule

Another trip to Merritt Island NWR: Swamp_rainbow, Fire in the Sky

A boat trip with friends on the Indian River, saw some great old houses:  View_from_the_River Oldie_but_goodie

Back to the Brevard Zoo for some pink posers: Drip

And to the Alligator Farm for Gators, duh....Shiver notice the water vibration from his roars, (yes, he's an albino)  & Open_Wide_ another roar.

Got lots of others to catch up, I'll catch you later.

About the thumb:  it was the same night we got the blue sunset, posted earlier and the rainbow.  Strange night.

  • I just love your images! I've never heard of a Gallinule and now I've seen one, very well, I might add! I would love to be sippin' ice tea on the veranda of Oldie but Goodie!...Excellent Pink one!...But your Gators...My dear, are in class by themselves...absolutely wonderful!

  • Enjoyed the trip with you via photos..Great detail in Drip..I liked seeing the rainbow, that is something that always amases me (it me be just my monitor but this paticular photo in the group seems to be really grainy). And that Albino, sure would not want to get close to him.

The old homes you saw while on the boat ride are ones would love to be able to explore and then sit on the front porch a while to 'rest'.

    - Blessings

BB, it's not your monitor, it is grainy.  It was grey & drizzling that day and all I had was the Lumix.  It's a great little all purpose camera but not as nice as the Canons for this shot.  The 'bow was an unexpected treat and I wanted to catch it.  Did a lot of PSing to bring out the colors.  Here's the original:swamp bow .   Note to AU: this is not an excuse, just an explaination.

I have never even seen pics of an albino gator.  Also I have never seen a "Purple Gallinule".  Beautiful colors.  Thanks for sharing. My favorite of the set is "Drip".

  • hehehe, Ole AU can't answer you anymore Kalole0, Cory took that feature away completely.

Again, you are the photographer. I like how you put those houses off River Road in the frame of your camera, just enough water to make the setting and  very well composed.
Your rainbow is quite nice. Good PSing. it is extremely difficult to get a colorful rainbow, I have tried and tried and haven't yet.
I like "drip" a lot! We usually try to get the whole bird in, your departure works very well.

All in all another beautiful post.
