I like em both. Isn't it interesting that the silver maple has red leaves for a while, untill the new leaves get enough sunlight to make the chlorophyl that turns them green.
We have a 100 yr. old maple in our front yard. I can only get my arms around it about half way. Every year it drops tons of helicopters. Sometimes they are an inch thick in our front yard. So all summer long we are pulling wittle baby maples out of our yard and garden, about an inch high.
Should collect them and sell em on E-Bay as seedlings - Ha! Ha!.
