Ashton, I also thought it would look better if the background were blurred. But I don't know how to do that yet. The PhotoShop book is my project as soon as I get through "Understanding Exposure" and my camera manual!
(The main thing I've learned so far on Photographica is that "snapshots" are a lot more simple than "photography". LOL)

Pat I love that quote from you "snapshots are a lot more simple then photography" that needs to be our motto here!! ;0) I would love to see shots of that little doll in natural light with those huge eyes. Her eyes are about as big as her ice cream! As far as the shot I agree about the background but you will get there. I know you will because you are so willing to learn

I don't find the background terribly distracting, though the seam in the shoulder could be toned down a bit. You probably could do that with a blurry clone tool to soften it a little.

Definitely cute. Those wide eyes and open mouth. Obviously it was her first bite since she's so clean. Since she's a regular customer surely she could be your regular model :-)
