Happy day after the 4th! hope everyone had a good & safe holiday.
I've been trying forever to get good shots of fireworks...it's a shame they're not used very often. This years batch is better than what I usually take, so I'm encouraged.
There was a kid with some of those glowsticks who helped me get a good setting. I like how it came out, so here's the one who was helping me out
My son took some too. me KFW1 KFW2 Here's my little shutterbug . Kael loves his camera & I'm happy to have something we share.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Nice pictures - and your fireworks are great, given that you appear to be trying to catch single bursts.
The best fireworks shots I've gotten were done like this:
1) Put the camera on a tripod.
2) Aim the camera in the general direction of the fireworks, with a wide lens, wide aperture and the shutter set to bulb.
3) fire the camera, but hold a piece of cardboard in front of the lens.
4) As each fireworks burst goes off, pull the cardboard away and, as it fades, return the cardboard.
5) After 4-5 bursts, let the shutter close.
6) Repeat 3,4,5.

Nice job, Brenda! Did your little guy snap the thumb photo? It's my favorite. I've never tried shooting fireworks - so I'm saving OT's instructions on how to do it.

Thanks for the tips OT. I'll try it next time.
Pat-that's my thumb. he didn't zoom in enough to get a big one. He did pretty good though!
