Beginner's Luck!

I was on my front porch watching a storm coming in over the far mesa when I noticed a rainbow starting to form, so I grabbed my camera and started snapping.  I noticed a flash of lightning just as I clicked the shutter button, but never dreamed that I caught it.  Imagine my surprise when I put it in the computer and zoomed in on the image.

I love it when a person takes advantage of an opportunity in nature.  You have certainly done that PC.  Great shot.

With that kind of luck...you might think about buying a lottery ticket! considering you had to act fast...amazing shot...well done!

Actually I had to work faster than you might imagine - I had the normal lens on my camera, but when I saw the rainbow starting to form I rushed back into the house to change to the zoom lens - but the catch itself was sheer luck.

It would be one thing to be startled by it and hit the shutter, but that wasn't the case, I'm assuming, based on how far away it looks. Now you have a great story to go with the image!

How fortuitous, having been such an optimist! :)

    - You smell funny!

Pat, that was Creator smiling on you...I'm just jealous, cause he was supposed to be smiling on me and I spilt milk again, darn it! Lol What a shot! Absolutely awesome!  You should play around with our edit tools...Then enter it in contests, better yet sell it...

    - come over for lunch

How lucky can you get....right place, right time and quick enough to capture a couple of 'beauties' in their own right..the lightning strike next to the rainbow..Great
