It Has Been Awhile....Stalking

By Penny written 7/8/08 5:36 PM, published 7/8/08 5:37 PM

How could I resist?  These  Amish Teens were on one of the side roads.  They saw us come over the hill and scrambled.  They were putting their cigarettes out and hiding their beer.  Some of the girls had their bonnets untied and thier hair down.  This is a common place for them to hang out and be teens.

"oh no!  that lady with the camera!  what does she do with those pictures?  I hope she doesn't show them to our parents!"

Your Amish shots are always interesting.  I was at a McDonald's restaurant recently and there was an Amish couple inside.  The only thing I could think of was what a funny shot it would be if they were to take their horse and buggy through the drive up window.  :)

Penny, keep your eye on drive in windows.... you never know.  I like the story and the photo

    - So shoot already!!

  • Penny

Actually I see amish in their buggies several times a week in town with McDonalds.  (funny you mention it.  I just told a friend from down state that and they couldn't believe it.) They love it!  It is funny though.  You can spot that bright bag a mile away in all the darkness of the buggy.   They love fast food!  Never have seen them in the drive thru though.  That would be so funny!

You are a superb stalker. Love the photo, but coupled with the story it is even better.

You haven't lost the stalking touch Penny. Good catch.

I hope the parents don't see these shots online.:-)

We have Amish not to far from us and its funny how people think they are so prim and proper. When really they are pretty much like everyone else especially the teens. Good picture.

I love it girly!  Fantastic shot.  Good to see the stalker out again.

    - blow.....hard

Paul I would love to say "no fear of the parents seeing the pics on line"  but.........the way the young ones have cell phones and stuff it would not surprise me if they don't get on line some how....some way.

Carrie you are so right.  So many people do think they are so prim and propper and the ones that live around here (I know at least) are FAR from it.

the meijer store out on the ne side of town where most of the amish in our area live, have a covered "buggy" port for the horse and buggys.  my husband has worked with a lot of amish (they are big business in the construction industry, they build beautiful homes) and tells me all kinds of things that they try to get away with.

Penny, have missed seeing your 'stalking' scenes, and yes you are right, the parents have probable seen pics and also they probably know what is going on 'cause more than likely most of the parents did the same thing growing up..isn't that the way of the world, and we hope that our kids will not do some of the things we may have done while growing up..enought of this..

The lone buggy on the lonely road and with it in b/w is very 'timeless'--love it.

    - Blessings
