  • I'm just joshing you.  I nearly fell out of my chair laughing when I read the title though.  I do like the grunge effect.  It works nicely and you did a great job with DOF to help separate the foreground from the background.

SG it is a technique that others like.  That is the reason I put the un-PSed shot for the naturallist.  The talent is still there but it is fun to enhance shots too. But yes grunge is a big thing right now.   Just like the oton effect people want to try new things after they see someone else do it.  Just about everyone tweeks their shots to some degree.  You do too.  The grunge is for fun.

  • When you have a good shot to start with -  it is fun to play.

You had a good shot and you played.

Can't see much difference between 2 and 3 but my ol peepers ain't what they use-to-be.

Maby that what's causin the nose prints on my monitor - - Ha! Ha!

Macman the only difference in 2 & 3 is that the outside of 3 is desaturated.  I couldn't decide which one to post so I posted both

  • Not a grunge fan, Like #1 but I think the background could have been blurred just a bit more, or darkened. The darkened would probably have to be PS'd though. mmm, maybe a touch of fill light on the foreground of flowers too. Unless the posts were the subject, then all bets are off. Nice comp.

I like the grunge look, both are neat.  I was looking for the posts to be in focus, instead of the foreground.  :o)

  • I like the first one, except that it seems like the fence should be in the focus too, and the background more blurred.  I like #3 where it all has the same, kind of 'blended' softness.

The first one's just fine, and I think the bokeh is appropriate.

Penny,I love the "grunge! I think the 2nd one is better in that it's a little lighter and my eye goes to the flowers.
