.....or, why to always carry a camera with you. These were taken at different times with my Lumix 18x. It's a great little camera, easy to keep in the car for those times when something needs shooting. Not so good for moving subjects, but perfect for this unexpected beauty.

I love the way the light is in the first one. Dramatic lighting

Thanks, Penny. We always seem to be out at the wrong time for the best light, so I just shoot into the sun and make the best of it.

Only agreement from me - the bougainvilla is spectacular - wouldn't have been as good in the "right light", proving again, it's what the photographer does with it!!

Wow, thank y'all. I try to make the adjustments in the camera, but usually need some PS Elements to adjust the levels a tad, crop and clone out dust and hot spots. I'm kinda getting where I like the back lite. LOL

Lovely flowers, wonderful back lights. I might have been tempted to blacken some of those spots in the background.

I like the lavender best, just enough light there to show off the bloom..and agree the first one is a beauty..

love the light shining through the petals on the first one and the tones in the last one are great. Nothing's too blown out and the shadows are just right. Great shooting (and btw, this is exactly why I really want to invest in a little p&s camera... but sometimes the idea of getting a new lens or something like that always overrules it.)
