I love taking close-ups of flowers. Please let me know how I can improve!

  • Your first shot (6666) was a very interesting plant.  You did a nice job of getting both stalks in sharp focus.  What that did though is bring the stairs behind the plant into focus too.  I think if you had cropped the left edge of the shot all the way up next to the yellow plant, and cropped the top down to the very edge of the top leaf you would have eliminated most of the background and had a stronger image.

There was too much going on in the background of your second shot too.  If you could crop out a lot of that it would draw more attention to your main subject.

I thought 7274 was your best shot.  I liked the composition, and the background was perfect.

I hope you found this helpful. Thanks for sharing.  I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.

  • #8143 is pixelated, those itty bitty squares in the background.  You must have blown up the picture too much.

#8094 has some nice colors, but needs some sort of a central subject.

I'm agreeing with the ole pirate, #7274 is the best of the lot.

  • Y'know, I missed 8143 & 8094 my first time around, but MrQ summed up my thoughts exactly.

  • I'm still trying to figure out what mr q is talking about with #8143.  I don't see it in the post or in your dashboard... Oh well.  I agree with all that has been said and concur that the last is the best.  The comp. is very nice, the colors soft and pleasing and there's a great focal point with nice shallow DOF in the background.

    Keep 'em coming!
