I help rescue cats.

My husband and I foster kittens for a local cat rescue.  We only take the ones that need to be bottle raised, as we are in a unique position to have the time available to care for them. Here are a few shots of the ones we had this spring.

I'm a dog person, myself . . . but one look at these adorable, sweet, helpless kittens, and I can't help but melt.  God bless you indeed, for caring for His creatures.  May your kindness come back to you many times over!!

    Your babies are beautiful!

We rescue too - and we keep them forever.  God only know how many there have been through the years, but the present family is 2 donkeys, 2 cats and 10 dogs (well, I bought one dog so he wouldn't go to the wrong person).

These are beautiful cat (kitten) portraits. Good lighting, excellent focus/detail, cute poses. They all look so tiny and fragile. My favorite is Bruiser3.

What great photos!  What cuties!  Thanks for taking care of them, they are very fortunate.  I went to the feed store last week to get my horse feed and the girl there takes in fosters also, for the humane society.  She got in 2  - week old lab puppies and 5- 5 day old kittens, she had to bottle feed!  I wished her lots of luck.  I would love to do that, right now I work too much.  :o)

    Thanks everyone.

Gizzy, Bruiser, and Zoe have all found other homes.  Little B and Ms. Iz will be here for the long haul.  They were flood victims, and in that first uncertain week, we were taken.  :)  They round out our animal family quite well.

As for loving to bottle feed - it is fun.  Sort of.  But.  I've cared for new born humans.  And they don't even compare.  People babies can pee and poop without "help."  They eat every 3-4 hours.  Kittens when born (we've gotten them as young as 3 hours old) eat every 30-45 minutes around the clock for three days, then every 45-90 minutes for the next two weeks.  This isn't just during the day, it's all night too.  Exhausting.  The difference?  Two months later they're weaned and have become cute little fluff balls with shining eyes that tear down your curtains and steal your buttons.  ;)
