A few more from the Canyon overlooks, but I have two today from the highest point in the canyon, Spider Rock. Also taken while walking around the spider rock overlook were these creepy trees. I found them and the on coming storm to evoke an unsettling mood.
And a bonus, my tent mate Jenna at one of the overlooks.
Some details from de Chelley in my next post and then we're moving on to Arches! Comments, critiques and suggestions taken with open arms.
Have a great weekend Everyone!

Groovus! Excellent choice on the B&W shots.

I would have liked Spider Rock better in color. I left my picture is color.

I am usually a B&W fan. But these are lacking something. I think they are a little flat. I do really like unsettling mood. I think the color gives it that little bit extra

Loving that tree shot, do you have any closer and looking up? To show the tree off a little better?

The tree for me too EF. I'm no tree expert, but it may be a juniper. When I worked at Grand Canyon there were several spots with bare junipers perched on the canyon edge.
As far as the overlook shots go, well, I'm a color junkie. I would have preferred them in color too.

i like the colored shots better too. maybe the B&W's seemed a bit too dark? or maybe the angle wasn't quite right?

What an amazing view! I think I would rather have them in color, also. I love craggy trees like that. :o)

I didn't do color because it was just before noon and I was almost shooting into the sun for these. The color was way too washed out, b&w looks better. Trust me.
