I just got back from my first trip to a nude beach. Don't worry though I won't burn out your eyes with what I saw. Needless to say it was not as hot as one might think. Unless of course you're aatrracted to old pot bellied men with Santa Clause beards and creepy European guys with hairy backs and gold chains. Iit was my first time hitting the sand on the West Coast and I got a few decent shots. The weather is amazing here and there is nothing like living next to the sea. around_town_059 around_town_007 around_town_012 around_town_014 around_town_013

To bad you couldn't do a little post work........these have actually have a good look to them. For me it's #12...without the people though. People always get in the way. Nice set.

7, 12&13 are pretty good, but you fell into some common traps on many of the ocean shots. First of all, 99.999999999% of ANY landscape shot with a straight horizon should have a level horizon. It's most noticeable on ocean shots because the ocean horizon is pretty damn straight. There are occasional exceptions when you have a subject in them that requires a particular angle, but most seascapes should have a level horizon.
2nd is the shots of the waves. They lack something, namely a subject. Take #59, what's it a photo of? There's some far off hills, a wave breaking and some sand, but nothing stands out from anything else. #7 has the waves crashing off the rocks (probably better to get the whole crash, the bottom's a little clipped) and the bridge in the back that both grab your attention, but #59 doesn't really have anything to focus on. Even in landscapes, you need to have a subject in your photos, be it a barn or abandoned car in a field, a lone tree or rock, a waterfall, something in the photo has to grab your attention.

You're getting better. Just keep pracitising and keep shooting. Also, a little post work is nothing to be ashamed of. Sometimes photo's just need a little help, I personally have a lot of fun messing around with pictures after the fact. One site I love a lot is www.picnik.com .

Welcome to the Bay Area. Wait till you've been here for a little while before you praise the weather. We've been having a mini heat wave for the past week and a half or so. Wait till the fog rolls in... and stays for weeks on end.....
