Challenge: Bi-Weekly Challenge: Windows
starting: April 13,2008
Windows we all love them... We all have them! They frame the view from the outside world and provide a frame for the inside world. They are a perfect vehicle for reflecting light and projecting light. Let's celebrate them.
Thank you Swat for your great arts and crafts challenge and for electing me for this one. For the next challenge , I nominate lefteyeblind, our Ms Pam.
Good luck everyone, i look forward to viewing your windows. Blessings, MsJudi
Going to the USA
Where ever you go, you're being watched.
So, keep your nose clean.
You might wonder, "Who would listen to my conversations? I'm not that interesting." You might feel like you're being stalked, scoped out, like you have no privacy, like there really is a Big Brother watching your every move. You're right.
Maybe you just happen to be in the same airport as a bored photographer who had to spend 9 hours in the airport waiting for a flight, because his workshop ended at 10:00am and the earliest flight he could catch was 7:45pm, a flight that ended up being delayed 45 minutes and he had nothing to do for all that time but had a digital camera handy and we all know that people with digital cameras - especially photographica members - take photos of everything because they know they're not wasting film and they can just delete the photos they don't like or they can take a bunch of photos in an airport, make up some silly story and post it online where other bored photographers can leave comments like "Great photo series" or "That was really stupid I don't know why I wasted my time looking at all those lame pictures of nothing," leaving the originally bored photographer either satisfied because someone else found some humor in the same thing he found humor in, or hurt because he realized it really was a series of photos about nothing.

Chicago O'Hare's Electric Tunnel
Detroit's Blue Tunnel
Detroit's Rainbow Tunnel
Actually, "Blue Tunnel" and "Rainbow Tunnel" are the same place. The lights change in time to some very odd music. If your in the Detroit Airport, its worth a visit.
Any constructive critisim would be appreciated.

Bangalore, Mysore, Ooty
The view from my apartment. Traffic comes at a standstill every morning, especially if some politician shuts the road so he can get through to the airport with his motorcade.
Commercial St in Bangalore.
Cops in Bangalore. Their weapons are bamboo sticks, and they hurt.
A cricket game - India vs. India. This is where I missed out on not having a cam with more than a 3x zoom!
We hired a car and driver to take us on our little road trip, because we wanted to come back alive. If you're thinking of driving in India, forget it!
Ooty's only street.
The empty hotel we stayed at in Mysore.
A checkpoint close to the Karnataka - Tamil Nadu border. In India you need to pay a tax to enter another state in your car.
Some abandoned hotel, or it seemed to be when we went in it.
Houston Municipal Airport
I work in the UK but I'm from Gran Canaria, Spain. I go back every now and then to meet friends who live close to my old neighbourhood, and family. It's a cool island, with a busy city and small villages as well as the well-known beach resorts.
The tourism industry has brought about a construction boom, leading to many seaside shopping centers being built... and then left sort of abandoned.
Other places look better, like this open area next to the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium and the Las Palmas Philharmonic.
And here's a panorama of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

So my plane was rather delayed, but we had already boarded. Time to shoot a roll. This is just after we started to taxi. Shot with my old-skool Nikon FG-20, manual shutter.
