OMG -Alaska

By tbell written 6/7/06 11:42 AM, published 6/7/06 11:42 AM

As many others have, I've been meaning to visit
Alaska for years. Finally got there, three days in Juneau and seven days on a small cruising boat, and spent a lot of time behind the lens - exhilarating and frustrating, as you all know. If these samples pique your interest, I've posted a lot more on my web gallery at: http://tbell.smugmug.com/gallery/1530578.

Hello, I am new to all this photojournaling and am thust just experimenting.  As such, here are some photos from this summer.  They aren't my best since those were too much of a pain to resize.  All but one of these were taken with an old Canon AE-1p.

The Following picture was a total accident.  Someone was holding my camera for me and must've ended up pressing the rewind lock.  I thus got a double exposure which gives the foggy feel to the upper half.  Also, if you look closely you can see the silhouette of two bald eagles...

The old White Pass Yukon Route was built to carry miners and their gear to the gold fields of Alaska during the Alaska gold rush. This narrow gauge line runs from Skagway, over White Pass to the Yukon. Today it is back and running as a tourist line.
