Well, after all the rain and flooding we had last week it's good to have a break.

I had Jaryd yesterday and we went to meet Barb for lunch.  We grabbed a pizza and was on the way to the park to eat when I spied this old abandoned church.  It was boarded up and all the stained glass was removed.  There must be a story behind it but I don't know it.

Last week I thought it would be funny to send a picture of me to all my kids to try and play on their sympathy before Father's day to try and maybe increase the gifts. Unfortunately, Barb came home early and caught me and now all of a sudden it's "not funny" anymore.  So, I didn't do it but which one do you think would have worked best?

I took some pictures this weekend for my husband and his song writing partner.  They wanted to get some shots of the equipment in the studio to put on their website (which is under construction).  I won't bore you with all the tequipment shots.  So, here are just a few of my favorites.

Thinking about what to post for this challenge has been pretty interesting. First I was thinking of posting one of my pictures that show Physical endurance. Then I thought about Endurance of  Charachter and use one my youngest brother whom has developmental problems and still insist on helping in the farm, showing a drive to endure no matter the obstacles.

What about those things that can withstand the passage of time? I could not think of a better example than the  Porta Coeli, a church in my old town that was built in 1906 and still stands in spite of  attacks, hurracaines and earthquakes. Not so is the case with the small Chapel where we used to listen to Mass when I was a child. It was a shock to me, when in my last visit a few weeks ago, i saw that even the cross is about to crumble.

I took spider pictures.  I can hardly stand looking at them.  But what made me actually take the plunge into it is the amazing  hand stitched look in this web. I could take a ton of   these shots without the spider.  It is a huge Banana Spider.  So it is official this site can make you do things you never thought you would do.

My friend asked me to go to a karaoke contest with her that she was singing in. I told her I would go for moral support.  During the breaks the announcer would sing songs.  I was amazed at what I saw.  Two teenagers dancing actual dances.  They were having so much fun and boy were they Puttin' on a show.  

For the competition the boy sang songs by people like Frank Sinatra and the girl sang a variety.  Her last one was a Bette Midler song.  BTW she won $500 first place for the competition.  I hope you enjoyed the post these are my first storyboards.  Thanks Lilbit and Lidljo.

Or as Loweho says where TravLin and I went for our parole hearing.

We met at the House Of Seven Gables. It was a neat place.  Even with the haunting we had...  After we left there we took the trolly ride to learn more about the town.  Then we went to the memorial for the witch trials.  It was very interesting.  Here are some of the people who were killed last statements: "To my dying...."
"God knows..."
"I plead..."
This is the park that is the memorial.  Each one of the stone benches has the persons name, how they were killed and the date.  It was very interesting.  And contrary to popular belief non were burned at the stake.  Most were hung.  Then we went into the cemetary next to the memorial.  None of the so called witches are there.  The bodies were disgarded after hanging for days and thrown into the woods.  For the animals to take care of.  In the cemetary there was even a person who came over on the Mayflower.  It was very interesting.  These are just some things that caught my eye: Into the streets & Down an alley.  If you ever have a chance to go there it is a great place to see.  And if you get a chance to meet up with someone from Photographica do it!  TravLin is a super person and I'm sure I will see her again!  Thanks for the great day TravLin!!
