From Friday's wedding
Just Married
Last saturday my husband got handed 2 tickets for the game. Of course I got my camera ready. These tickets were luxury box seats. We got V.I.P. parking, the buffet, all you can eat and drink. All this was free to us. We were 7 rows from the front and right behind home plate!!! The only way to go. I ended up using my film camera because I left my memory card to the digital at home. Kick me now. (I bought extra memory monday) Anyway, this is one that I like the best. Hope you do too. Good Cards!!! :o)
Just a few more from the games this week.
The Pitch
The Slide
The Swing
The Slide 2
The Tag
The Pitch 2 I thought the evening light was interesting in this one.
Folks who watch the Simpsons regularly already know the story. For those who don't, the Albuquerque Isotopes are our baseball team. The name was chosen becase of a Simpsons episode in which our illustrious mayor, hell-bent on getting his own baseball team gets the Isotopes! Well, when it came time for us true life Albuquerquians to vote on a name for our team, Isotopes (put on the ballot as more of a joke I think)Won!
Anyhoo, Went to the game last night. Great fun! Stuffed ourselves with meat-byproducts and beer. God bless America.

Somewhere on here they'll show the

I got your ruling right

How does your garden

Mabey the other guys won because of thier blurry
pitcher.
Walking the outfield
walk.
Just a few shots from my son's ball games this week and last week. We are the team in green uniforms.
Our Pitcher:
He's safe even though he knocked the base off.
My Son 2nd Base:
Diving for the ball.
Our Center Fielder:
He slides, he's safe!
Our Center Fielder Again:
Yes this ball actually hit him in the face, instant black eye but he stayed on base and scored a run.
Note: The thumbnail is my son running to first, fence got in my way.
Well I guess you all could be getting tired of my pictures of the area minor league team and there high dollar big league rehab visitors, but I have not much time with work to do anything, and I just make the time to go to the games here. Anyway....we were luck to have another pitcher in our area on memorial day, and that would be Mark Prior. We had pretty good seats, and I thought this photo was not to bad. What do you think?Mother's Day started off cool and rainy. Pam picked us up and we drove to the ball park. By the time we got to the park it had stopped raining, and was I glad! Rain does strange things to my hair! This is
me in the parking lot with Miller Park in the background.
See? No matter where we looked, there were tailgaters. They were
here, they were
there, they were everywhere. Well we tailgated too. Pyro told me to
sit on a chair while he cooked some hamburgers. Well they finally got done and we ate a whole bunch of stuff and had a drink too. It was all really good. Boy, that burger I ate almost seemed
bigger than me, but I handled it. After we ate, we finally got into
Miller Park. The park has a retractable roof so it wasn't going to rain on our parade, er I mean ballgame. This is
me in Miller Park. This Mother's Day, the ballplayers were allowed to wear PINK wristbands and use
PINK bats if they wanted to. At Miller Park they have a guy named Bernie Brewer. He kind of acts like a cheerleader and gets to
slide down a big slide when a Brewer hits a homerun. I asked Pyro to take
this picture for my friend Surferguy. I thought he would like it. Another exciting thing at the ballpark is the
Klements Sausage Race. Pyro told me that Milwaukee was settled by many people of German, Italian and Polish descent who brought their sausage making skills from "the old country". In the seventh inning, we all stood up and sang some
songs. I saw a man carrying beer on his head and a girl with a tree made of cotton candy.
See? Well, after nine and a half innings the score was tied 5 to 5. In the bottom of the tenth inning, Milwaukee's Bill Hall hit a homerun with his PINK bat. Here he is being greeted by his team mates as he scores
the winning run to make the score
6 to 5. After the game, we went outside and I had my picture taken with
Karen and Pam and Hammerin' Hank Aaron the all time homerun hitter who played most of his career with the Milwaukee Braves. After I had my picture taken with
Robin Yount the 2-time MVP, we went home and boy was I tired.
Hana fell asleep on the way home and had many wonderful things to dream about. I just hope Hana didn't put you to sleep. See ya next time.
Went to the Cleveland Indians Game this evening and WE won! EMOTIONS are high!
Strangers at The House That Ruth Built
When I go to
Yankee Stadium, fifty percent of my mind is on the game, fifty percent is on the other fans and food vendors.
Beer Here
Ice Cream
Cotton Candy
Peanuts
Home Run
The Players
The Fans
At this game I taught my 11 year old nephew how to score. When I told him he needed to write the temperature on the top of the score card he wrote "73 degress, right now". This is how he filled out his line up card for the Yankees - Johnny, Derek, Gary, Alex, Jason, Hedeki, Bernie, Robby and Gary. That about says it all, just a bunch of kids playing a game.
Games people play at Yankee Stadium.
Yankee Stadium, the House that Ruth Built, the Cathedral of Baseball, the Home of the Evil Empire. Here are a few games that are played while the Yankees play.
Bleacher Creatures - are in the right field bleachers. If I'm not mistaken, these are all season ticket holders. It is a tight knit group of people. In the first inning the bleacher creatures chant the Yankees fielder's names starting with the pitcher and ending with the right fielder. The Bleacher Creatures will not stop chanting a players name until the player tips his cap to them. Of course they stop chanting when the pitch is thrown.
Players Favorite Songs - Before a player comes to bat a song is played on the public address system. These songs are the player's choice. So when a player comes up to bat he will hear one of his favorite songs. The fans get a different taste of the player by listening to their song. When a relief pitcher enters the game their favorite song is also played. Mike Myers is a new relief pitcher and they play the sound track to the movie "Halloween". Marion Rivera enters to "Enter Sandman" by Metallica, and during the playoffs the whole stadium sings the song as he enters.
New York, New York - the song. "If you can make it there..." This song is played on the public address system after the end of each game. As you are walking down the wide ramps the song is blaring loud. If the Yankees win, they play the Frank Sinatra version, but if they lose they play the Lisa Minnelli version. They don't like Lisa. This song drove the Arizona Diamond Backs owner crazy during the World Series. He got the last laugh when the Diamond Backs won. My favorite quote from that series, when the Yankees were described as being a team of Destiny and Mystic, one Arizona reporter said, "Destiny and Mystic are just two adult entertainment dancers in downtown Arizona". I might be misquoting here, but who cares.
My cousin and I go to one or two games a year now. We always bring our own
food. During the seventies we went quite often when general admission was only $3.50 and you could get a good heavenly seat in back of home plate.
Enter Sandman
Say your prayers little one
Don't forget, my son
To include everyone
Tuck you in, warm within
Keep you free from sin
Till the sandman he comes
Sleep with one eye open
Gripping your pillow tight
Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
Off to never never land
Today was the first day that my daughter's team was able to play a game this season because of the enormous amounts of rain. Here are some pics from todays eventSince I don't know most of these people, yet, I'm calling them strangers...
It's the Cub's Home Opener today on Chicago's North Side. I had to work. But just this past Monday, I was out hunting for a sign :)
I could hear the wind singing through the fence, calling back the Ghost Players
I love(d) this movie.
"Is this Heaven? No, it's Iowa."
Thanks for looking.
