By daz27041 written 12/8/07 5:09 PM, published 12/11/07 8:45 AM
I recently walked around some of Sydney's beaches and took a few photos of the action. The beaches are Tamarama and Bronte in the Eastern suburbs.

Ocean, Sand, and Surf! What else do you need to make it paradise?

By stormy written 8/14/06 7:20 AM, published 8/14/06 7:20 AM
Once again I found myself at the beach for the weekend.  This time I decided to try black and white photos.  Be honest and tell me what you think.  ThePopup Linkocean's surf started to Popup Linksplash the rocks and then Popup Linkreturn to its home.  The Popup Linkrockshelp protect the point from the ocean's fiery.   As we walked down the beach we came across a  Popup Linksand castle or in terms of my three year old thinking, Popup LinkCinderella's castle.  As I walked around the sand castle I notice that the inhabitants of the castle were Popup LinkMrs. and Mr. Octopus.  Must give credit to where credit is deserved.  The artists were from good ole Popup LinkNOLA.  Later that night I notice that the Popup Linksurf was really started to come in.

A few bonus pics in color.

You know that first trip you go on with your new camera? The one where you take all kinds of shots to show off all that it can do? I went to Assateague Island.

Indulge in these oh-so-random pictures of the Island……

I hope all of these links work-Tell me what you think!

A Windy Day ...

By Lidljo written 8/3/06 2:36 PM, published 8/3/06 2:36 PM
Yesterday was hot at the beach, but it was also very windy as storms were moving in.  There had been two drownings the day before so they closed the Grand Haven pier around supper time due to the undercurrents caused by the waves - one of the drownings had been due to them the day before - kids (a 25 year old) jumping off the pier to cool off. The pier he jumped off is much like the one in the picture that has the lighthouse on it.  There are several piers like this along our area of Lake Michigan.  When we were in South Haven there were plenty of people in the water, and there were kites flying.  There were also signs and umbrellas blowing away from people.

Having Fun at the Beach

By stormy written 8/3/06 7:00 AM, published 8/3/06 7:00 AM
It all started on Sunday when we went down to Orange Beach.  My oldest daughter Laura wanted to go play on the sand.  While walking down to the beach we came across a
Popup Linksand dune.  Our next stop would be the Popup Linkrocks.  Laura thought it would be really funny to  Popup Linkclimb on the rocks.  As we sat on the rocks the Popup Linkfishing boats started to come in from the Gulf of Mexico into the pass after a hard day of fishing.  Not on one of those boat but on our own darling husband and two of our girls caught this Popup Linkbig red snapper.  The end of a perfect couple of days at the beach we decided to go to the Popup LinkFerris Wheel.  Have you ever wonder what the person in the gondola sees when they are waiting for the ferris wheel to take off and start?  This is what I Popup Linksaw.  And right next to me is my darling  Popup Linkthree year old who made me get on this ferris wheel despite my fear of heights.  As we left the view of the Popup Linkferris wheel came in many inviting colors of lights

Fishing On The Beach

By ClassyShots written 7/10/06 7:50 AM, published 7/10/06 7:50 AM
This set is from the coast trip. One evening as I was walking back up to the parking area from the beach I meet a man walking down to go fishing. The idea hit me for late evening shots of someone fishing down there. The following evening when I went down he and his family were already down there fishing. I asked permission to take some shots of him, his dad and his daughter fishing. He said no problem. They were from Idaho and I gave him one of my cards and told him if he would email me when he got home I'd send him a CD with copies of the photos.

These are four of the shots.

Just got back from a business trip to the Chicago area.  While there, I visited the community of Lake Forest which is right on the shores of Lake Michigan.  A very pretty place. These are my faves from the 50+ frames I shot.

Memorial Day

By Whybehave2002 written 6/2/06 3:07 PM, published 6/2/06 3:07 PM
I adore this site and am deciding to jump in and give it a whirl!  I am just now getting a chance to go through my pictures from my adventures on Memorial Day.

I woke up early and was swept away to a beautiful, virtually untouched, beach.  Popup LinkSeagrass Tucked away in Milford, Connecticut I found Silver Sands State Park.  I spent the better part of the day walking the beach, gathering shells, pretty rocks and sun rays.  And trying not to step on the dozens of horseshoe crabs Popup LinkHorseshoe Crab that were dealing with a heavy dose of spring fever.  If you get my drift.  Pun intended.

From there the next stop was Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center where I was treated to flowers, great egrets, Popup LinkEgret osprey, cardinals, even more rustic shoreline and swans! Popup LinkSwans Yes, while I was walking the shore I turned around to head back and 22 (I counted them) swans had flown in and landed in the ocean that I had just strolled by.  Nature at it's best!
