Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' on the river.....
One of my goals last week besides feeding Scooter the squirrel peanuts and sunflower seeds (unsalted of course) was to shoot some river shots for black and whites. One of the major goals here is keeping my feet dry. 38 degree river water in your boots gets mighty chilly mighty quick. My feet stayed dry. The feet on the tripod got plenty wet!Canon 20D, 18-55mm Canon kit lens, tripod and remote shutter release were used on all shots. Most are around F11 and 1/2 second shutter speed. No filters. All shot in RAW and converted to tiff with Raw Shooter Pro and converted to b&w in PS 7.
Enjoy,
Mike
Some Ruins for Turbo (He'll know why)
Langtry, Tx (pop. 11 or 12 depending on who you ask), a ghost town, is the former home of Judge Roy Bean. It's an odd mix of about 5 modern houses built among these ruins. The Torres family owned the land upon which Langtry was built and their store was the town's original shopping center

Digging around...
.. in the archives looking for images with the tonal range for b&w conversion. Trying to learn to "see" better for shooting in black and white. My dog sees that way but unless it's food he doesn't think it looks good.

More Hong Kong
No matter how many times I go there, I love staying across the harbor in Kowloon.

To get to work each morning, we take the

But on my free weekends, I really appreciate the opportunity to go wandering to the outlying islands with a camera

Unfortunately, this year I missed the
dragon boat festival by a couple of weeks...

This is one of those places of which I don't seem to tire; I assume that one day I'll figure out what I'm seeing here.
You knew you weren't going to get away without seeing some black and white.
