Curious what you all think ...
... about this image. It's part of a project I'm working on - Curves - I try to take photos where the viewer sees the curves and not necessarily the actual item. Tricky. Interested in how you view it, the composition, gray tones, focus, what you like and don't like, etc.
The background in black velveteen and it is a B&W conversion from color.
BTW-This image won a 3rd place in a local fine art show in March.
San Jacinto Battleground
On April 21st, the battleground park celebrates San Jacinto Day -- it's the day Texas achieved its independence from Mexico. The battleground is where the Trinity River empties in to Trinity Bay and is set in the middle of any number of oil refineries. Often I frame my photos to hide the industry; sometimes I don't.

Two of My Favorite Things To Photograph
Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' on the river.....
Canon 20D, 18-55mm Canon kit lens, tripod and remote shutter release were used on all shots. Most are around F11 and 1/2 second shutter speed. No filters. All shot in RAW and converted to tiff with Raw Shooter Pro and converted to b&w in PS 7.
Some Ruins for Turbo (He'll know why)
The Torres family owned the land upon which Langtry was built and their store was the town's original shopping center
Red Rock just outside of Las Vegas.
More Hong Kong
To get to work each morning, we take the ferry across to Central. (sure beats the freeway!)
Unfortunately, this year I missed the dragon boat festival by a couple of weeks...
