While walking around with the butterflies, I was lucky enough to capture these:
Blue on blue

I couldn't control the background, but the butterfly keeper/security/guide could
Blue on flesh

Sad note, the reason this one was so docile was, according to the handler, because it is old.

Lokis and I went to the zoo a couple weeks ago.  We didn't have much time there, but we made the most of it. We stopped at the butterfly house first.  It was hard to leave.  Here are a few of them

Or at least, by it's name it could be assumed this guy is common.  He's a common buckeye.  And the last butterfly I have to share with you guys.  Hopefully the info has been entertaining and educational.

Thanks for looking.  As always, comments and critiques are highly encouraged.

It was beautiful weather on Sunday and our zinnias and marigolds are still at full bloom and the butterflies were just loving it.  And I was loving them.  And we loved each other!  And while we were coexisting peacefully, they volunteered for a few portraits and today I'm going to do the opposite of what I normally do, I'm going to show you my favorites first (normally I show the good ones, and then try and get better with each post so that the subject doesn't get worn out but I like these too much).

But I'm having trouble deciding which background I like, green or blue.

Thanks for looking!  Comments and critiques are always appreciated.

Another lazy day near the American River... love that place...

As I was sitting taking it all in, this Black Swallowtail Butterfly landed among the wildflowers I was sitting in. So I grabbed my Canon and took the photo op. I turned around a little later and about @#$%-ed my pants when this flew up beside me. It is about an inch long, and fat. Any ideas of it may be ??

As the sun was setting on that gorgeous day, some birds were wading in the shallow water near the shore. I thought I would get a little creative..( what..? me creative ?? ) and PS this one... hope you like it !

She flutters by, catching every eye,
Dancing in the light, what a sight
 Pretty Butterfly .

One day you'll see, she will look at me
Showing in her eye, butterfly curiosity.
That's when I will slowly lower my net,
And she will probably let me catch her,
The pretty butterfly.

I was lucky enough to spend 10 days in Singapore.  I did a lot of sightseeing.  One of the first things I got to do was tour this old  Firehouse .  I also thought the wall at Ft. Canning  Park was really interesting.  While out shopping, I came across these sets of very colorful  Stairs .  I also got to see a bird's eye view of the city while riding the Singapore  Flyer .  I took a day trip out to Sentosa Island to see the  Butterfly Park and the  Merlion that it is famous for.  I also got to see a beautiful  Sun set before I left the island.  My trip to Singapore was a lot of fun and I got to end it well with these delicious  Cupcakes !
