Butterflies at a
Butterfly garden. Not too many, sorry. These were active that day, everyone seamed to flying from flower to flower. The temperature was warmish/hot, and humid! I couldn't believe I went into a warmer room on a nice cool day. Oh well, here are the butterflies.
Thumbnail - the Lego display is still going on
I thought I would get some of my shots of flowers. The 1st one is a multicolored zinnia. zinnia1 Two marigolds w/butterfly. buttfly marigold_buttfly On this hosta shot I used the 'watercolor' filter. It was a bit grainy and I liked the new looks. Used Watercolor Plain Hybiscus hybiscus with some work on the bkgrnd. On this hosta I used a Topaz add-on hosta2 Hope y'all like it.

Pictures from a state park
Over the weekend, I took a little walk in a local state park. This park has a history of being flooded, and sure enough, last year and this spring it got flooded, and flooded good! The road going down into the park (there is an upper park and a lower park, all these are from the lower park.) During a flood, Mother Nature will arrange things to suit herself, thus she put four inches of gravel on a good paved road. She also tried to clean up the creek side, but this bridge got in the way. Being a state park, and being that this area is only walk in, the Grass hasn't been mowed for quite a while, picnic area where I ate lunch. This is a bridge I wanted to photograph, and did (I think it goes back to the CCC days.) One nice thing about how things are, critters are enjoying the solitude.
PS. This is a state park, no picking of flowers, but if you do, please place them someplace nice to be photographed.
Something i forget...
somewhere along the way i forgot to post this shot.
so, i was walking from the house to the barn, with a juicy gob of black grapes in my left hand and a drink in my right.
i was munching the grapes, picking them off the vine with my teeth.
when i brought my hand up...i almost munched this.
...luckily i saw him first.
i guess i had dribbled some of the luscious grape goo on my finger and he/she honed in on it.
as it sat there on my finger greedily lapping up it's sweet, sweet find...i thought..." i gotta get a picture of this"...then i thought.."no way i can get inside to the camera and fire it up before it flies away."
well, long story short...i did and there it is.
in fact, i had to take it back outside and shoo it off my finger to get it to leave.
i did leave it a squashed grape for payment of its' posing services rendered.
ta ta! lil friend.

Bi Weekly Challenge ~ Flowers
I finally took some time to process a few pics to post here. These are the last of the butterfly bush flowers with a little addition to them.
Not sure what these are, but they are wild around my house and I have seen hummers and bees around them.
Thanks for any comments and for looking. Have a Wonderful night! :o)
As can be said for most, it's a hot, humid, miserable summer this year. Too miserable to be out taking many pictures, really. But yesterday and I was walking back into the house from some short excursion outside, I noticed this beautiful blue butterfly perched on the door frame. I stealthily snuck back inside, grabbed my camera and switched to my 50mm with the 12mm extension tube and scooted back out crossing my fingers that the door opening and closing scared him away. I got lucky because he allowed for a 30 minute photo session. Here are my best of the pack.
Tomorrow, we'll revisit my sunflowers. Thanks for looking and commenting!
One Of North America's Vanishing Butterflies
The Regal Fritillary is one of North America's vanishing butterflies. It's mainly restricted to the upper Great Plains and the only place this butterfly can be found east of the Mississippi River, is in Pennsylvania, in the meadows around Fort Indiantown Gap.
Just couldn't resist ...
... 'cause it let me get really close --> Eastern Tiger Swallowtail - Papilio glaucus and I still didn't get as much in focus as I wanted!
