~ Cheesed & Seven ~

Back on February 7 2010, my Malibu was cheesed.

Just the other day, I was Googleing my son Matt Hoge's name and found this article , about a singer Will Hoge. The image above with the hash marks is his current album .. Then I remembered the car's markings.

Coincidence?....

EDIT.... Will Hoge's current album 7 was released Septmeber 27, 2011... so the kids who "cheesed" the car in 2010 with those markings knew nothing about the album.

Coincidence wins.

These pictures have been sitting on my CF card since September and I just got them edited a week ago.  It's been crazy for me since the end of August with both work and home.  But I'm getting them to you now.  That's all that matters right?
Well, back at the end of September Michael and I went up to Lebanon, TN for the annual Rat rod show, the Redneck Rumble De Luxe.  We've been going for about 4 years now and this things keeps getting bigger.  This year it took nearly 4 hours just to walk through all the cars.  Since I've been going to this for so long, we see some repeats from the year before and I try to take new and different angles.  I've been in a bit of a photo rut most of this year but I got a few I liked.  And I'm sorry, but I had to change them to b&w.  It just fit.  Or maybe I'm in a mood.  Who knows ;-)

Thanks for looking.  I have more on my dashboard and I'll consider posting them, but I know not everyone enjoys car pictures so I won't force them on you.

Another round of shots from the redneck rumble.  Thanks for all the feedback on my last post, you all are swelling my ego!  But I won't let it get out of control.

Sticking with focus on details, I also had a collection of the front ends of the car.  All the different hord ornaments catch my eyes, and sometimes there are some I don't recognize.

Thanks everyone who commented and looked at my 500th post.  I'm so very happy to be able to share all my shots with you.  And speaking of sharing, we're going back to the Redneck Rumble.  SG, you said something about more subject.  Well, these may be to your liking.  Again, I was trying to "think outside the box" a little and there are so many customs things in these cars it's amazing not to look at the details.  Even if the details are all over the inside of the cars.  Which leads to the next installment:  Interiors.

Comments, critiques, criticism... whatever you feel like writing, I'll take it!  Thanks for looking and Happy Friday!

Went to my favorite rat rod car show again this year in Lebanon, TN.  I had so much fun, much more than last year and I'm super pleased with how my shots came out.  I'm going to try and make these as painless as possible so I'm going to split them up between two different slideshows (hopefully I'll have the other images ready soon to post too).

Welcome to the Redneck Rumble

Let me know if there's anything I can do to improve these, I plan to make my visits as annual as the show itself.  Also, thanks for looking!  Have a great Monday!

Under The Hood

Beside the fact that there was a little minor trespassing to get these shots.  This place was a gold mine of things rusty and crusty.  I really want to go back but not by myself this time. I had a barn door slam and there was no wind and it spooked me.  So I want to go back with someone with me and let others know where we are.....  None of this by myself with no one knowing where I am at....

A Bug and Mocha's Suffering

First of all, I spent the day with my sister and nieces and told them what the new challenge was.  They came up with the idea of showing you this, Mocha Suffering.  We got home from the mall and Lori put a milk bone on the floor in front of his kennel and then I took the picture.  We immediately let him out, and the next shot I got was only his tail.
My brother-in-law is a Body Shop Owner.  One of his hobbies is restoring old cars.  He had his VW that he restored sitting outside this morning so I took some shots of it.  This is The Bug.  It was a mess when he bought it, but it sure looks nice now.

This picture is for TBell, he wanted to see the size of the mill stonesin the windmill.
In Frederick Meijer Garden you will find these two statues facing each other.  They say that they really don't know the reasoning behind these two men sitting like this.
At the Air Zoo there are these two planes in a dog fight - one is upside down and the other is painted on the mural.
There was also this old Ford in amongst the airplanes at the Air Zoo and I liked the headlights.
This shot is another that caught my eye at the Air Zoo, but it was not an airplane - it was a double steering wheel of an old car.  Not everything at the Air Zoo was airplanes

Auction Day

My neighbors across the street had an auction on Saturday.  It was a long day full of photo ops. There was a lot of old stuff up for auction.   This oldie sold for a couple hundred dollars. It was actually from a different estate that they put in with my neighbors auction. There were tools of allkinds. Boxes of them.  This Super Sport caught my eye when someone drove up in it.  There were awide variety of people there.  Did any of you think I could resist taking these pics of the amish?  The most important thing at an auction besides having money is to be  comfortable.

Well the week long event has ended without a bang, just a big amount of rain. Most of the events this past week were cancelled so I did not get to take the pictures I looked so forward too. Only around half of the people came to town to show the cars maybe 1500 or so. But at least we still had the event. On Friday night I stood at the edge of the road and shot 100+ cars as they pulled up for me or drove by. DESCRIPTION_HERE These people put so much into the work with these cars and are so very proud, they smile and wave and are happy to stop and talkDESCRIPTION_HERE and show off what they have done. Of course they show off the power of the engines alsoDESCRIPTION_HERE and the streets do rumble.DESCRIPTION_HERE . I went to a Show-n-Shine mid week to shoot some of the cars and fell in love with this truckDESCRIPTION_HERE . Hope you all enjoy the view.

The Turkey Trot...

Well, we spent about 4 hours Sunday driving around the countryside here and over in Illinois.  Spotted wild turkeys three different times and a fox, which is unusual at mid-day, and a bunch of barns and old buildings. Never got a good shot of the turkeys or fox, too far away, did try to head one turkey off at the pass by racing up the opposite side of the hill but turkeys are fast and I'm not anymore. I did get close enough to make him fly. Barb stayed with the car and cheered me on. "you're gonna have a heart attack,... you're gonna have an asthma attack,... you're gonna hurt your back,... you're gonna track mud into the car"!  None of which happened... except for the mud.
No barns here these are some pics of the other things we saw while we were out. I'll save the barn stuff for later posts while I'm working on the challenge.

Into the Wild Blue Yonder.
Ancient Chariot.
Feelin' Groovy.
Crimson and Clover.
Head for the Trees, Boys!

Turkey pic is a small part of a larger pic and is not good, just thought you'd like to see the turkeys. All the others are open for comments and criticism. Just remember how sensitive I am.

Thought I would share.DESCRIPTION_HERE I also spent this Friday at out local car even "Kool April Nites" cruise and took 100+ shots of some hot carsDESCRIPTION_HERE this is just one little nova out of around 1500 cars. I love the look on the faces of the drivers, but I miss my baby the most...sold my 67 mustang in December...boohoo!!
