Remember when you were young and thought those prizes you won at the fair were great?  Remember the feeling you got playing the numerous games? (this one shot from the hip)  Remember spending a lot on something that really didn't cost much? All the bright characters luring you in? Being a kid at the fair was such an exciting time.  Now with my camera I  looked at a lot of things with excitement again!  There were fun things everywhere. So when the fair comes to town, go...with your camera! You will look at things again like when you were a kid. Feelings you used to get when you used to play games and winning those chintzy prizes.  

While driving to town I always have to pass the mission. Yesterday I had my camera with me as I was planning on taking pics of my kids in town. I got a bit distracted by this womanDESCRIPTION_HERE who was cold and wet but the mission is closed to her in the daytime. She seems so beat downDESCRIPTION_HERE and kept looking at the mission wishing.. I had to go on and what change as I sat in the car at the storeDESCRIPTION_HERE , I wondered how many of these people were just a few paychecks away from the black plastic bag rain coat. For those of you wondering, my children and I pass out tickets to the homeless for meals at the mission, but sometimes I wonder how the ones way across town get there.
As we drove away from the store we passed the every year Spring Carnival that comes to townDESCRIPTION_HERE , those poor carnival workers, so wet!It is normally very hot and dry here. But nothing stops a kid and a carnival rideDESCRIPTION_HERE . The kids were so cute yelling at me "Hey take my picture", so I did. I wonder where the parents were?DESCRIPTION_HERE Funny note, I never took one picture of my kids...?

A couple of miles down the road from where we live in Woodstock, Illinois is the annual McHenry County Fair. We arrive at the not too imposing entrance Entrance . It's early so the Carnival rides have yet to be started Carnival . The lines aren't too long yet so we stop for some goodies Eats on our way to the 4H dairy judging  Pavilion . This youngster won his class Jersey Cow . Most fun was watching the pigs Winner,  Chops. We couldn't resist the Cow Wash  Wash . More next year.
