Orange and Red

By Pablo57 written 2/8/08 7:03 PM, published 2/9/08 12:49 PM
I see a pattern emerging.  First it's doors and windows, now it's orange and red. The photos are from last week's lunch time walks except the first which is my walk home at night.  The photos are straight from the camera, no saturation required.

Red On the Coney Island Boardwalk

Orange On Seventh Avenue and 37th

Orange On 14th Street and 6th Avenue

Red at Bryant Park Spring Fashion Show

Thumb Red Making a Fashion Statement at The Show
Reminds me of the Hendrix lyrics, "She walks with a bell-clock round her neck
So the hippies think shes in with time"

Howie and I went to the Spring Fashion Show at Bryant Park a couple of times, to check out the um, ah, fashions.  Posting shortly.

I shot the sheriff but I did not shoot the deputy

MikeH and I decided we needed to give Loweho a reason to smile after his “procedure”. Here are a few items we thought Don needs to turn that frown into a grin.

At the Coney Island Mermaid Parade photo op, the sheriff was there alone with no support group and her smile and enthusiasm lit up the area.  She was the only one there that I felt comfortable photographing. She has a generous, photogenic, soothing soul.

Strangers - I'm addicted to these.
At my lunch perch on the NE corner of 34th street and 7th Ave. She is Popup Link photographing her friends with the Empire State Building as a background.
Times Square, 44th and Broadway.  The man taking the Popup Link photo is selling them for $20 a piece.  He has a cart on the sidewalk with a printer connected to a car battery.

Blizzard of Mermaids

By Pablo57 written 2/12/06 9:16 AM, published 2/12/06 9:16 AM
The "Blizzard of 2006" is raging outside, but my thoughts are on the Annual Coney Island Mermaid Parade.  Here is last summer's Mermaid Parade.

 1. The spill out from the parade is right in front of where I live.  If you were driving this float, which person would you listen to, the police man or the Popup Linkcircus ring leader with wand?  The shark bridge in the background leads directly from the subway to the boardwalk.

  1. She sang beautifully and really enjoyed having her photograph taken,Popup Linkwoman with mike and backup band.
  2. Popup LinkFaces in the crowd watching the parade.  It was a very hot day.
  3. Popup LinkMermaid, rated M walking in the parade.   Note the two photographers surrounding her.
  4. Popup LinkAstroland shot from the boardwalk.  I live in the condo to the far right.
