I hate when you can't scratch where it itches.

During our day at the fair on Friday we saw lots of sleeping going on.  I don't think I'd sleep so close to that end of a cow's anatomy.  Sleeping in the barns seemed to be the most popular.  Of course we saw animals sleeping too, like this porker who won the biggest bore contest weighing in at 1,040 pounds.  But my recollection is that we saw more human-types sleeping than animals.  You might be able to tell from this last shot that I was very nearly on the same plane as my subject.  Hmmm, I wonder why.  zzzzz

Went to see the Texas wildflowers last weekend (I know Miztli beat me to the story) and saw some  strangers and even strangers with  a dog.

However, to keep the flowers wild and beautiful, certain rules have to be followed. It is sad that despite the large warning signs, some on the other side  of the fence just don't listen.

I was driving through the subdivision my in-laws live in and came across a cool photo op. I had my 2 year old with me and would love to have had more time, but these are the pics that I caught in a hurry.

End of the Fall Trip

Yesterday after work, I went to Engler Lake (pond, whatever) close to where I work.

Saturday we went to a Different Kind of farm.  On the way we saw this Horse. It didn't liked it's pic taken for this shot. Horse 2  But was posing for this shot.   Horse 3 At the farm we saw this  cow.  Not so different for a farm.  But seeing this many  Deer is different.  A friend of the family raises  Deer 2.  He also raises wild Russian Hogs.  Like this little  one day old baby.  Here he is going to  Mumma.  This is what they look like when they are big.  I liked this pic of a  Boy on the farm.  I also took a pic of  this.

A couple of miles down the road from where we live in Woodstock, Illinois is the annual McHenry County Fair. We arrive at the not too imposing entrance Entrance . It's early so the Carnival rides have yet to be started Carnival . The lines aren't too long yet so we stop for some goodies Eats on our way to the 4H dairy judging  Pavilion . This youngster won his class Jersey Cow . Most fun was watching the pigs Winner,  Chops. We couldn't resist the Cow Wash  Wash . More next year.

Last Friday, Shannon and I went to the annual Puyallup Fair (sorry if I mis-spell - no spell checker catches this). We saw ducks, and some cows. Course, seeing the cows reminded me of why I'm vegetarian, but seeing this reminds me of how fun it is to barbecue.

Oh yea - we saw lots of Roller Coasters
