Dancing at the Ren Faire

By enigmaticfaerie written 5/20/08 6:07 AM, published 5/21/08 5:58 AM

After the bellydancing Monday, I thought I'd show you a sexy rennaisance dance (or that's what Lady Ophelia called it when she asked the Queen if she'd like to partake in a dance).

I now present you Queen Elizabeth in some rennaisance dancing.

Catch the Wind: Renaissance Style

By enigmaticfaerie written 5/19/08 6:02 AM, published 5/19/08 6:09 AM

It's may and you wanna know what that means?  The Middle Tennessee Rennaisance Festival is in town every weekend!  Although I won't be going every weekend, I did go the weekend of the 10th.  So you guys can look forward to lots of shots from there over the next 2 weeks.

Starting today with some ladies who didn't need to catch the wind, they made their own.

Through DANCING!

But not any kind of dancing.... Bellydancing!

These two ladies danced and then fought.  Then, they danced some more!

Tomorrow, something a little more refined.

I hope you guys enjoy seeing the fair through my eyes.  I have costumes and entertainers galore!

Yesterday Priscilla, Kirstin and I took a day trip down to Henderson, Minnesota, a quaint small town in southern Minnesota on the Minnesota River. We stopped in at an antique/art shop run by some friends of ours.  Here are a few random shots from their shop.

Here is a Popup Linkmystery shot from that trip.  Can you tell what it is?

A couple weeks ago I had a paid gig at the Science Museum of Minnesota.  They had different dance groups performing.  Here are a few shots from that shoot.

Talented Teens....

My friend asked me to go to a karaoke contest with her that she was singing in. I told her I would go for moral support.  During the breaks the announcer would sing songs.  I was amazed at what I saw.  Two teenagers Popup Linkdancing actual dances.  They were having so much fun and boy were they Popup LinkPuttin' on a show.

For the competition the boy sang songs by people like Frank Sinatra and the girl sang a variety.  Her last one was a Bette Midler song.  BTW she won $500 first place for the competition.  I hope you enjoyed the post these are my first storyboards.  Thanks Lilbit and Lidljo.

Russian Heritage Month, Brighton Beach (Little Odessa), Brooklyn, NYC.

Brighton Beach aka Little Odessa is the largest Russian speaking community in the world outside of the USSR.  In Seabreeze Park, across the street from where I live, dancing and singing is presented every Sunday during Russian Heritage Month.  The Russians are world known for their ballet, ice skating and singing, so it is no surprise to find great young talent here.  The cultural traditions and discipline continues.

Royale Cabaret

The photos below and my last post titled "Shadow Dancing" were taken last Friday night in the Royale Cabaret in the Wyndham Resort on the West coast of Aruba.  In the Royale Cabaret, Vika and I were given a table inches away from the stage. I asked if it was ok to take photos and they said no problem video or photos are ok.  My life seems like a dream sometimes.  This was one of those moments.
