Here is my entry for this bi-weekly challenge....
Went in the kitchen this evening to get coffee and see two deer out at the back edge of the property. Grab the gear and the monopod and snuck out there, if a 240 pound guy in house slippers, shorts, and carrying a 6 ft. black stick could sneak up on anything. I thought a couple met the criteria for joyful symmetry but you be the judge.
Nothing to do on Sunday, and it was a beautiful day in Chicagoland... I got my Pal (The Rebel) and my driver (The Spouse) and went to find a garden that I had seen at lunch time on Friday.
I drove out to Caney Mtn today to look for critters. All I saw was the backside of a big badger as he was running the other direction! But I did see
I've been enjoying summer!
Today I Saw A Whitetail Doe Feeding At The Edge Of A Cornfield Next To My Home
A deer had a baby in my neighbor's backyard. Right there in the yard! I wasn't home to see it but my wife was. The fawn must be in the woods behind our houses now because the mother is always walking around our yards. I only needed to zoom a little on this pic, she let me get about 6 feet from her.

i left my home on the third coast about ten years ago and moved to a farm in central texas. i haven't been back in a very long time; since my dad passed. my dad was a brigider general in the texas army national guard and also an attorney. he was always under pressure, but, found a way to relax. you see he had 30 acres of ranch land and held a gamebreeder's permit. he enjoyed helping his game warden friends by rescueing and raising baby deer seperated from their mothers. growing up at home it was not unusual to see him lying in bed bottle feeding yet another orphan deer. in fact, i lived on that deer ranch for a few years, and got to know some of the deer personally.
