Thanksgiving means Florida. It's where we go every year to hang with the relatives and grandkids. It's also where I sometimes have to go for work, which works out nicely. This time it was both.
I know a lot of folks here have shown fall leaves and that they're pretty much all gone now, but fall comes a little later in Florida. These were in a puddle in the front yard.
This bridge connects Okaloosa Island to Destin. The water is the Destin East Pass, connecting the Gulf of Mexico to the left and Choctawhatchee Bay beyond the bridge.
One of my favorite restaurants for seafood is Nick's in Freeport on the north side of Choctawhatchee Bay. This reflection was shot next to the restaurant.
There's something special about a sunset over the water. Instead of dark foregrounds, you get double the sunset colors. This was shot from a condo balcony in Destin.
This water is Santa Rosa Sound at dusk. Across it is Okaloosa Island, a narrow barrier island strip of white sand, and then the Gulf of Mexico.
I came across this bug one afternoon and have not a clue what it is. Anybody know this fellow's name? I tried "Spot." He didn't answer to that. ;-)
You Lookin At Me?
A gull from the beach in Destin admiring himself/herself (how do you tell?).
