Despite only picking one shot to post as my challenge submission for item #2, I have plenty of entries. Today, I think I'll show them off :-)
Sorry about so many... sometimes I just don't feel like splitting up the images into separate stories. Hope you guys enjoy them, I think we're going to lose most of the leaves that are left after the rains today. Oh well, I'll just have to pick a few up off the ground for some Portraits ;-)
Bonus: Some of the Fairies' Rules
Some late fall color
A couple of weekends ago, Michael and I had a full weekend of activities. One happened to be down at Tannehill State Park. While we were there for the military vehicle show (lots of jeeps ;-) we decided to take a walk through the small village and to the grist mill. We've been to the park 2 times before but never took the time to walk through there. The fall colors were in still in full bloom, despite it being November.
Comments and critiques always welcome!
A little Fall Color left.
Just before Halloween we took our kids to the Corn Stalk Maze. They had these small sunflowers planted every where. the color was so beautiful.
Enjoy and have a great day. :-)
My favorite pond at sunrise
Fall is just beginning --> Sunrise
I'm surprised by comments about how scary this pond looks. Just shows how different people view the same thing. So here's why I like this pond. At about 7:15 when the photo was taken there were a flock of turkey behind and left of me 50ft or so just leaving their roosts, a couple of crows were declaring their territory and a lovely soft breeze was stirring the tree tops. The pond is covered with tiny little green plants which were tinted blue in the filtered light. Only monsters here were a couple of little frogs and a turtle. Thanks for your comments!
I picked a few windblown leaves from my garden today and took them indoors and washed them off, then dried them with some tissue. I found some white card and placed the leaves on it and rested the card in our windowsill. The flash fired in a couple of the shots but I had plenty of light so turned the flash off.
Autumn Gold.1.jpg The area of card that could still be seen has been cropped out in all these shots.
Autumn Gold.2.jpg I used Photoshop to enhance the leaf colour! Increased saturation.
Autumn Gold.3.jpg The shadows are a little harsh in this shot, but I still like it.
Autumn Gold.4.jpg This is my favourite of the study.
Autumn Gold.5.jpg This shot was backlit with a small light box.
Fall Days ;)
Sorry I've been on the missing here. Family Life gets in the way. And have not had much inspiration either.
I did go out with the camera last week and enjoyed the fall colors before the leaves dropped. It all look so pretty and all I seem to do these days is drive by it all and have not time to stop. Well last Friday I stopped. I took a ride the Fort Niagara park and shot some pics.
Hope you enjoy them. ;)
I know this next picture some of you might not like because of the tree in the way but I liked the tree right where it was, I gave the effect of the change of the seasons to come.
This one was Taken from Hyde Park, Niagara Falls.
A bunch of fun guys and a leaf walked into a bar...
I'm telling you, it's that time of year and I'll have leaves in all of my pictures! Even if they're not originally why I started snapping pictures. For example, while we were hiking this weekend Michael and I came upon three fallen trees that had an enormous cluster of fungi growing on them. I've never seen clusters like this. However, there was also a leaf that had the prettiest shimmer and I couldn't help myself but to include him in the photoshoot.
I intended to make the shots about the fungus... but I think my affection towards leaves won out and they became more about the leaf.
Anyway, same run as the last two days. I'm digging all this honest criticism!
Bonus (all you b&w haters, turn your heads): Leaf
Pick your Own Pumpkins!
It was supposed to be sunny all weekend. Cold, but sunny. Unfortunately, on Saturday when we decided to go out and about on the town it wasn't sunny but the weathermen got the cold part right. The wind was bitter and nothing sounded better to us than a hot cup of cocoa or cider. As crazy as it sounded, we decided that we needed to go walk around a pumpkin patch. We didn't find our perfect pumpkin here, but we did find a guy who looked like he had too much to drink.
Thanks for looking! Everybody stay warm, we had our first frost this morning.
Edit: 1st shot with more dof (this is the most I shot, sorry if it's still not enough)
