A lot of you said that you liked what I did with my first fireworks shots this year on a post a couple of weeks ago.  I finally got a chance to sit down with the other batch of fireworks shots I got at a later show, to see if any of them had the same kind of possibilities.  Here is what I captured, enjoy!

P.S.  Kazu was driving me nuts pestering me while I was trying to go through these shots... I told him to go outside and play hide and seek with himself.  Then he kept yelling for me to come and find him....
He was hiding In Here , then he hid Up There , then I found him On Here , then I had to go look Over There .  He is a real pest sometimes!  He does seem to be recovered from the Biker BBQ though.  I couldn't take pictures, because several of the guests were on parole. Guess the only photos they have posted are on the wall at the post office....  But my husband did promise Kazu if he was good, he would take him to get a tattoo sometime this week... Stay tuned.

Okay, was a very busy weekend with the 3 wonderful kids. We went to Boston. Then we went to the Providence RI Roger Williams zoo (pictures coming soon of the critters) Well we topped off the wonderful weekend with the Fireworks in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. (not a tourist site, beware lol)but they have a great fireworks show. So, before I begin a small rebroadcast of the show (cable guy humor), I have to send KUDO'S to "dmorris" for offering that awesome link to shooting fireworks!!!! It was very good info!!! This was my first time shooting fireworks. And now "ON WITH THE SHOW" "Give Me an Oooooo Give Me An Ahhhhhhhhhh Ooooooooo Ahhhhhhhh Give Me An Ooooooo and Ahhhhhh Time to change it up,Give Me a WOW LOL Boom POW Well that is not all I got, but these were the ones I liked. And I cannot thank "dmorris" enough for that link. My thumb for this story was part of the finale but the Bonehead (me) uploaded the huge file. ooops, sorry Cory. Over the 4th of July, I went to Reno and watched the fireworks and went to the chicken wing festival- it was a lot of fun (but I still missed home)

Well so I had a terrific fourth of July and hope everyone else did too. I found myself at my grandparents house out in the country early that after noon before fireworks. I was able to catch 2 humming birds male and female. I also was able to see a Bumble Bee hard at work. Not to mention a pretty cool  sunset. Right before the fireworks. Now these are four photos of fireworks I took, also they are the first shots I have ever taken of fireworks. I thought they came out neat, aside an uneven horizon, due to my silly tripod.

Like most people, we were out watching fireworks last night.  This was my first time trying to photograph them though.  My camera has a fireworks setting and I tried it out.  I also tried to remember the advice given over in the threads (use a tripod-forgot it, take filters off-remembered half way through...)  So please take a moment and give me some advice on what I could do different next time.

Last night they had their fireworks celebration down in Mtn. Home, AR.  I knew it would be a big crowd, a long walk, and I didn't take my tripod.  I took about 80 shots, and only liked 2 of them....

Then I started isolating, cropping, and enlarging, and something totally different started to happen... so tell me what you think?

On June 17th, there were fireworks. And they were a lot of fun to watch. It had been like 4 years since I have gone to see a firework show. AND I REALLY ENJOYED IT! (even though it did take us like a half hour to get there because my brother was driving and he "needed" (decided) to go and get some gasoline for his car...) But it was really worth it! They made me excited for the 4th of July, but I'm going out of town...so I'll try to get some other neat pictures...

by the way: they're not the BEST quality...and I'm not that great at holding a camera too still but they are the best that I have...

Thanks to everyone's tips yesterday, I've improved on my moon photos. Still not perfect, but a definite improvement. This moon is a combination of two photos at ISO200, f/11, 1/125th second, with a bit of sharpening.

Continuing the night theme, on Australia Day (Jan 26) we went to the South Perth foreshore for the fireworks (along with a few hundred thousand other people). Perth at Night Fireworks! More fireworks!

Sunset at Fishing Boat Harbour, Fremantle, on a warm summer night when there were big bushfires in the hills. As we walked down to the harbour there was ash falling from the sky, despite being 40km away from the action.

And finally, the War Memorial at Kings Park.

Off to Downtown first stopping at the Cleveland Greenhouse Bird of Paradise Pink Lily Orchid.
Then off to the arrival of Santa which I missed because he is so quick but I did get my niece and son watching the fireworks1 2 3 4 5 6 until the  grand finale.
Then we went to Old Stone Church to hear a choir.

Went to the Wine Fest last night and ran into some Cork Heads, their hats are made out of corks, of course. Some people had wine and crackers. Some just got wine from the wine booth. Little girls danced Under the Mist that you can not see. Big Girls had fun Dancing also.Then we watched Fireworks they were really pretty. As we were leaving I thought the  Booths looked nice all lite up.
Then came today with the Pool Girls.  Ready for Launch. Attack And then a little Jimmy Kimmel? trampoline

Afternoon Delight

Now that I have The Starland Vocal Band out of my head, I can get on with the rest of my entry...

First set of fireworks were shot on July 3rd at Ridgefield High School, in Ridgefield, CT. The fire department put together a very nice show for a fairly large crowd. I had a good spot, but I made the tragic mistake of forgetting my tripod at home. Anyway, here they are:

This second set is of the Macy's fireworks show in NYC, shot from very far away, across the Hudson River in Jersey City, NJ. We were at a party, I wasn't anticipating good photos. I did get some "interesting" results and that is the only reason I even bothered to post them...

Spent the weekend at my brother-in-laws and he has this lake right off his deck.  It's just beautiful there.  If you'd like to take a spin around it, there's transportation provided.  I liked the way the sun looked through the trees.  We had fireworks last night; here's a few of what I was able to capture.  These are all handheld, and my first attempt at capturing fireworks.   1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 I'll look for some windows and doors this week.  Hope y'all enjoy!

I took this picture in the summer... it was a competition between, Canada, Italy and Spain (if i remember correctly).... it was such a great show!
