My nephew, who graduated from high school this past weekend, was co-captain of his football team.  He asked me to come to the game to shoot some pictures for him.  At first, he wouldn't let me on the field.  I guess having Auntie on the field is as bad as having Mom there!  After much debate, i was finally allowed out of the bleachers and into the action. Friday night high school football, with it's notoriously bad lighting has to be the most challenging shoot i have ever done.*1,*2, *3, *4.

Here's another first submission... These are the untouched ones. I'll see about getting the processed versions up when I get free time... (early 2008, I'm thinking)

Anyway, here are my boys kicking the football (look careful at the top, I almost missed it), catching it, and finally posing. (We had to play one-hand touch, since I had the camera AND was on defense... alone...)

I was on the sideline for each of these.  As you will see, I was almost run over in one of the shots, but I stood my ground.

 Got to go to our local high school football game on Saturday night. I thought I'd get some cool shots...but I suck!..150 feet away and fast action, mixed with low lights and a crappy photogapher.. Mpst of what I got was a frig'in blurr..So I tried to salvage shots with some fun in PS, some are ok but..well you'll see..football . I need some help on shooting action at night..any help would be just fine by me.I used a 70-200mm canon ef lens...Help Cheer me up.

Since some of you have gotten in to shooting sports(MATT!!!), I thought I would share the worst storm I ever had to shoot in. Football friday night!!! It was along time ago, but I still remember it vividly. I had to put my camera in a plastic garbage bag and cut a hole in it for my lens! The quality is not the best as the rain washed out anything that was in the light in places and I had to  push my film to asa 6400. Here goes...oops..  lotsa rain gotcha  river walk  stack  yummy..mud sandwich!
