After dark trees

By nomansland written 6/23/06 5:50 AM, published 6/23/06 5:50 AM
Popup Link1, Popup Link2 and Popup Link3.
That's almost everything I managed to shot after dark, all the rest is crap. Not that these ones are too good either.
I shot the first tree picture in Norway, where the summer nights are quite short and bright and the sky almost never get completely dark.
The second tree is in the middle of the city of Dresden, Germany, while the third tree is a Libanese cedar shot in France few days ago.

Syncro: Paris

By elpit written 5/14/06 1:31 PM, published 5/14/06 1:31 PM
After a weekend away of the Internet, here are finally the shots of the project Syncro:

After an incident with my backpack being stolen and some Popup Linkraining, I finally got out the house to try making the picture...

Around six o'clock I was around a small villa hidden in the middle of Paris calledPopup Linkpetite Alsace. Finally, at the moment of the picture i was just crossing the Popup Linkdoor of the villa, trying not to call the atention of the warden.

Finally, after not having such a great picture as I expected and being robed (all in the same weekend), I played with some Popup Linkcandles, some Popup Linkzooming and finally, my Popup Linkgirfriend.

By the way, great shots for the Syncro project! Thanks again tomi for the idea...

A glimpse of France

Cremieu is a medieval French town not far from Lyon. I took the first two pictures in the Popup LinkAutumn of Popup Link2004. I went back to Cremieu two weeks ago: The castle (built in the XII century) looked completely different Popup Linkthis time, although the Popup Linkspring flowers were already on the streets. I stared again at the old  Popup Linkdoors, Popup Linkwindows and a nice bottle of Popup LinkArmagnac from 1900 until the carnival started.

Chenonceau Chateau Reflection

By TomM written 3/12/06 8:10 AM, published 3/12/06 8:10 AM
I took this picture in 1994 in Chenonceau, Loire Valley, France.  It was taken with a Canon A-1 with Kodacolor 400 then transferred to Kodak PhotoCD and how is a jpeg.Popup LinkChenonceau
During World War II the river was the border between German-occupied France and the collaborator Vichy Francy.  The Chateau was uwed for meetings between the the Germans and the French.

Springtime in Europe and the UK

Maybe a little glimpse of springtime will lighten the cabin fever for those of you all snowed in.  Wales is one of the greenest places I have ever seen.  Peeking though this opening at the Galway Castle wall  Popup LinkCastle wall is like looking into springtime.  I learned that only 1 in 5 Welsh people still speak their native language, which I think is sad.  Check out this sign written in Welsh and it gives you an idea why! I love taking pictures of things against the sky.  Popup LinkEnglish statue  This was on top of a castle in Leeds, England.   We went to Sitges, Spain on Easter Sunday, this is the cathedral at Sitges on the sea, a magical day.  Popup LinkSitges I guess one of my favorite things to shoot is architecture, I fell in love with the iron work on the buidings in Marseilles.  A wonderful place to sit and watch the world go by on a spring day.  Popup LinkMarseilles
For those of you who suggested I crop the picture of my son in the alley in Gerona, here is the revised version.  I think I still like the tall overexposed sky shot better though!
Popup LinkGerona Spain  What do you think?  Popup Linkoriginal Gerona shot  Thanks for looking at my shots, appreciate your comments and suggestions.  There are some really talented photographers on this site, a great learning tool!

A visit

We went to Pierrefonds castle in France and saw some  Popup Linkrather prickly Popup Linkvisitors. Then we saw a famous Popup Linklady on holiday too, no doubt.

As we were leaving we saw some very alternative Popup Linktransport
