Invisible but There
Invisible Wings
The 'Invisible' challenge inspired me to post this shot...
I was hiking in the Gila Wilderness in NM, when I spotted something across a stream hovering near a purple blossom. I THOUGHT that it was a hummingbird, and I zoomed in tight and snapped
this shot. The tiny winged creature flew off like a bullet the second it heard my shutter click, and I never imagined that I actually got a shot of the thing... until I got home and saw the pic. Turns out it was not a hummingbird, but a hummingbird moth. I was so surprised that I got the shot, and I love how it's little wings were beating sooo fast that they are nearly invisible. A truly lucky photo!
Invisible... except for the mess!
These are all theme shots of things we can't see.
Thanks to Cherish and Birdie for the mess I had to clean up for the next two. This was tough, timing the powder with the camera. I finally gave up put the camera on continous drive and repeatedly squeezed the powder and hoped it would catch a puff. I forgot two important things: One, I have asthma; Two, talcum makes the floor slick. After a couple minutes I realized I wasn't breathing and when I took off to get my inhaler, fell and busted my butt. There was a fine coating of talc all over the kitchen floor. But all is well, except I had a mess.

Air Pressure 2
I started a series here but it died out.
Ultralight
Ultrasonic
Ultrasound This is the 3D ultrasound of the future grandson, already exhibiting a "flip"pant attitude.
I was going to also have ultraviolet, but amazingly, I no longer have a blacklight nor does anyone I know. What's the world coming to.
Breath and some Singed hair for the challenge!
Set up to illustrate breath for the invisible challenge.
Singed Got a little too far over the flame in this one. The smell of burning hair reminded me I could have just got closer with Photoshop. If you look close you can see a couple curled and singed hairs.
This started out as a simple idea that I thought I'd set up in a second and it turned into an hour. Flame was easy... smoke harder to shoot. I also thought of shooting talcum powder being squeezed out of it's container but then I realized I'd have powder all over when Barb got home and decided to hold off... for now.
