Nature Wild...Working With Nature

By ROCKADEE written 5/7/08 9:14 AM, published 5/11/08 2:43 PM

 Yesterday I Drove Down To Cape May, NJ To Help And Work With The NJ Audubon's Spring Shore Bird Migration Count. These Birds Have Just Arrived From South America Where They Spend The Winter Months. Cape May Is A Major Stop Over And Resting Place For These Birds. They Will Spend A Few Weeks Here Feeding And Resting Before Continuing On To Their Summer Breeding Grounds In The Arctic. These Birds Will Return To Cape May In Late Summer To Feed And Rest Once Again Before Flying Down To South America To Winter. It Was An Awesome Day Working With These Amazing Birds....NATURE RULES!!!

In Praise of Blue

By Phantoms Wife written 5/9/08 7:09 PM, published 5/9/08 7:09 PM

Obviously, blue was abundant at the Boatyard , where a Sailboat or a Fishing Boat fit the bill.

I found a  Rivulet of blue in the midst of the mud flats, a bit of blue decorating this year's Sage,

And, of course, I found my thrill on Blueberry Hill

A break for the day

I'm taking a break from the zoo today.  But I promise you lots of exciting and beautiful big cats next week.  But for today, I'll tide you over with some flower shots (hopefully they're not boring).

Room for more

What a Beautiful Bunch

Thanks for looking and all comments are appreciated.  Have a great weekend everyone!

~~~ Life ~~~
   I'd have to Popup Linkadmit, life would be Popup Linkgreat if we would Popup Linkonly stop and smell the Popup Linkflowers. Life would be different if I would just sit down and relax, to be Popup Linkcalm. But I can't always do that. Some times, life is rough, hard. Its like I'm being Popup Linksqueezed by pressure that I don't understand. My soul is Popup Linkcracked ,as if a Popup Linklayer of me has been taken away, and it hurts. I am under Popup Linkconstruction...
I've been Popup Linkpulled and dragged through the mire...I'm used to it, but the pain is Popup Linkstill there. Things that felt normal, aren't,and my vision of happiness is now Popup Linkcracked and incomplete.
    It might be time for me to move on, down a different Popup Linkpath. I need to find Popup Linkrest within this troubled time, and look for Popup Linkpeace..... but I am under Popup Linkconstruction.
Dee And I Spent The Holiday Weekend Camping At Our Eagle Campsite On The Upper Delaware River. Yesterday At 6:30 pm I Spotted A Beautiful Mature Bald Eagle Perched In A Big Tree Across The River. Every Time I See An Eagle In The Wild, My Heart Beats Faster And My Eyes Open Wide. I'm Just Like A Kid Full Of Excitement On Christmas Day. The Sun Was Getting Low And And I Was Fighting The Light. Not The Best Conditions For Shooting Eagles In The Wild. Enjoy The Awesome Beauty Of A Wild Mature Bald Eagle!
My Dad's heart rate is slowly coming back up and he is getting ornery so I think we will have him home soon.  They got him up today and had him walking a bit with his walker.
Weekend
By Lidljo written 9/1/06 7:15 PM, published 9/1/06 7:15 PM
I was working on lesson plans at school this morning and my husband called to say that my Dad was being taken to the hospital by ambulance - so I dropped everything and went.  He is 90 years old so is a "person of a day" - we know that he can go at any time.  It was his heart, and the rate was too low - well tonight he is stable and in the hospital being watched.  They think that his body was no long tolerating his blood pressure medication.  It was surprising how fast five brothers and sisters can get to the hospital in an emergency - two were there before the ambulance.  I did have time to have a couple of nice talks with Dad, and he assured me that if his time came he is ready to go.
