Through my wife's eyes

By tucana25 written 2/7/08 9:37 PM, published 2/12/08 1:29 PM
When my wife and I had the holiday party last weekend, we shared the camera. I borrowed it for a while to shoot the church across the street.  I thought I'd share a few of her pictures.  We got a lot of shots between the two of us, and I thought I'd share some of my favorite ones that she shot.

This is her boss, mo.

I want to do a series of people drinking out of straws...I have a theory that it is impossible to look 'tough' drinking out of a straw.  In any case, here is me: ty_straw

On the way home, we were stopped next to one of my favorite murals: the love_power church.

A few places I've been with my camera since this mess of a year started. I'm pretty sure they're all work-friendly but, I've been wrong before. Nothing deep or insightful here but I hope you like them anyway.

Trick or Treat!

By jellybean written 10/23/05 5:08 PM, published 10/23/05 5:08 PM
So we have already attended the first Halloween party of the season.  They had a blast!  The 6 yr old (who is obsessed with firefighting) was a......come on...guess....Popup Linka firefighter!  Sean loved it.  He had on his t shirt the firefighters from Lexington, KY gave him on underneath the coat and wore blue pants like they do.  Unfortunately, the shirt isn't going to last much longer, he's going to outgrow it! (if anyone knows where I can score another, PLEASE let me know)  The 2 1/2 yr old went as.... Popup LinkSuper Connor!  No, you read it right.  He refused to be identified as Superman.  His name is Connor and you can just call him Super Connor now.  They ate cookies until they could practically climb walls due to the sugar buzz and then sat on all the balloons until they popped.  A great time was had by all.

Demolition

By tyd written 10/17/05 9:48 PM, published 10/17/05 9:48 PM

I recently bought a house in Hoquiam, WA. It's a cute little house, but needs some work to make it my home. So, I've been spending two days out of the week down working on it. This was the first weekend that I stayed both days. I spent most of the time tearing down plywood walls in the upstairs. I found some interesting things hidden in the walls.

My first theme

By jellybean written 10/17/05 9:12 AM, published 10/17/05 9:12 AM
Okay, be gentle!  This is my first theme posting....

So we went out to a pumpking patch to see what we could find.  In a box were a Popup Linkbunch of little things to choose from.  We decided to wait until later.  We wandered over to the milking exhibition and  Popup Linkdo you see what I see?  It was a space for an "udder cam"! (snicker)

On down the way was a hayride.  We hopped on and away we went.  We were surprised by some things from out  Popup Linkon the edge of the universe, and luckily they were friendly.  All through the cornfields were different scarecrows, but Popup Linkis it legal to violoate copywrite laws this way???  We trundled through a haunted barn.  There seemed to be a party going on as they were  Popup Linkcelebrating halloween a little early.  Whew, they party hard!  The bartender was  Popup Linkintimidating, so we moved on.  The hayride  Popup Linkwas at the end when we reached the famous graveyard.  Fun was had by all!

Hope you enjoyed it.

Some of Lilbit's 14

By Tach written 10/9/05 11:16 AM, published 10/9/05 11:16 AM

I was riding my tour bus up to Thomas Jefferson's house and looked up and saw this - Popup LinkWhat the? When I got there I asked where Weezie was but no one got the joke.

I have a urge never to go to Pep Boy's again - but I don't know why... Popup Linkdo you see what I see?

Many people, when they first join this forum, get excited and unknowingly break the rules - Apparently Kayn has developed a device to notify her when the 24 hour time frame has been breached and she quickly jumps into action ... curious if this is Popup Linklegal if not I will quickly be reminded that you can Popup Linkput as much on one post as you likebut more than one in 24 hours is Popup Linktoo many!

Sometimes it is funny what you will find in the smallest of places - some of you will recall a series of joke  photos from the web and laugh at this
Popup Linklittle thing I did with my buddies ear.

This is another friend of mine - and by the looks of things he is
Popup Linkhalf baked.

When Lilbit put her project together and included the word sticky... WOW I was inspired.  I got the kiddie pool, hired the strippers, ordered the honey, and was ready to go - then I saw all the hubbub about the near nakedness that got so many panties in a twist - so I toned down my interpretation and simply shot a couple close ups of the fun -Popup LinkstickyPopup Linksticky tips

My friends have always told me that I am on the  Popup Linkedge - you be the judge.

Dummy, and Sunday I am taking a pass on - however I am a Dummy, since I had to confirm the official definition of Faux in the dictionary (I was right), and it's Sunday - so give me a break on this one...

Sometimes I think that my ancestors were boring people - and envy the Mexican's who know how to party - so as often as possible I am a

Popup LinkFaux Mexican it seems to work - Don't ask what the medal is for - it's a secret!

Not everyone loves Popup Linkcelebrations so when that happens - you have to understand when some run and hide!

I went for a ride earlier this week - just needed some fresh air - when I got home I realized that I may have drunk Popup Linktoo much, and then I realized that I wasn't at my home... Duh - I am a dummy!

I am very careful when I ride my motorcycle through the mountains of Virginia - but they keep you on your toes with Popup Linkintimidating signs like this...

Well - I am glad you put this together Lilbit - and this is the Popup LinkEND

I thoroughly enjoyed this theme - it gave total latitude to the submitter. Kudos `Lil'

Some of these pictures are from my 30+ years of archives and some are from just this morning.

When I 1st saw the theme I thought Popup Linkwhat the hay I can do this.  Then images popped into my head.

This one is for Paulamouse - Popup Link do you see what I see - at least mine are edible.

This one is very old but since possession is 9/10's I felt I was very safe in this posting of  Popup Linkis that legal?

I went to the local produce farm and found these adorable Popup Linklittle things.

My friend came over to swim and did a Popup Linkhalf  gainer dive into my pool.

Everyone should know that in the desert everything will either Popup Linkstick you , prick you, bite you or sting you.

This is really living Popup Linkon the edge.

This guy was a real Popup Linkdummy  because he always thought I was his Popup Linkfaux PA .

Popup LinkSunday of course means - that's right -  ornate woodcarvings.

"Here is a close up and personal shot of Kool and the Gang singing Popup Linkcelebration taken in April 2002 in Key Largo private party.

On Sept 13, 2000 I took this picture waiting for my flight in Newark NJ - I still find it Popup Linktoo much to comprehend.

When someone does this before your eyes it is very Popup Linkintimidating "

That brings us to conclusion - Popup LinkTHE END

Heres some more pictures from my trip to California. I went to Popup LinkBolsa_Chica Popup LinkBolsa_Chica2 Beach. There were a lot of  Popup Linkpeople there that day. I also went to Popup LinkHermosa_beach this summer. While I was in California I took a picture of my cousin Alex hitting the   Popup Linkpinata at a birthday party. And finally I have a picture of a Popup Linktree in my yard here in Kansas. Tell me what you think, I'll take any criticism.

As you all know, Claude is eleven years old.  She has been very moody lately and now we have another cross to bear.

Halloween.

First we were battling the"am I too old to go trick-or-treating". Once that was settled (she'll just have a costume party).  Now we have to decide what costume to wear.  She would like you to help her chose...

Everybody Loves Otis

By Tach written 9/16/05 6:33 PM, published 9/16/05 6:33 PM

There seems to be an immediate interest and affection for my boy Otis.  Oat will be 3 years old on November 6th.  I must say I am flattered and appreciative!  Otis is a Bernese Mountain Dog...  Email me if you have questions!

Since his Popup Linkfirst photo, his personality has shown through.

He is full of Popup Linkexpression and is the best dog I have ever had.

Within the 1st week of having Oat, I had a party for him... A Puppy Warming Party!  You wouldn't have believed how smart and well behaved he was in his very first interaction with a group of people.  The next morning he simply Popup Linksat next to the front door wondering where his new friends went.

He grew quickly - Popup Linkdoubling in size each month.

He also continued to become morePopup Link expressive and at times

Popup Linkhillarious.

He loves his  Popup Linktoys

He also loves to go for  rides in the Popup Linkcar

If you would like to see more of the Oatman just look at my profile of photos.

I would like to share one more photo- my grandparents are 95 years old last week and have been married 75 years... they are amazing people and struggliing now... this is a photo I took with Otis and my Grandmother 2 months ago after my father died... please enjoy it as much as I do!  Again - she is Popup Link95!

I don't only take pictures of Otis - but it certainly seems to be a good icebreaker to the group.

Cheers to all - have a great weekend!

Anti Disengagement Demonstration

On June 29th many settlers and citizens that decided to block roads all over Israel to express their outrage against the Israeli government's decision to implement a drastic policy of "disengaging" from long held established communities without holding a referendum or national election. [It should be mentioned that the ruling party won the election on a campaign dyametrically opposed to such a policy]
