Chilly but sunny day outside of starbucks.  Passed by this man and his dog enjoying a drink together.  This girl DID not MOVE!  She was great.  Neither one was saying a word, but they knew exactly what each other was thinking.Popup LinkDESCRIPTION_HERE

Usually, the dog is chasing the cat around.  Or the cat is chasing the dog around.  This is a rare moment of stillness. It is too bad about the focus, but there just wasn't enough light.  Otherwise, I think it is a pretty cool photo.

Tux

Working 8-5 has its drawbacks this time of year, very little sun!  To play with my new camera I have to use my best subject, Popup LinkTux, who looks thrilled!  One thing he is good for, a great game of   Popup Linkfetch. I guess he knows we really wanted a dog.  Of course, like any kitty, he loves to get into things.  Popup LinkThese guys are not his friends anymore!  Popup LinkToys are great, but he also gets Popup Linkfrisky with the camera.  After a while he does Popup Linkchill and  Popup Linktire out.

Have to end with a good Popup Linkclose up!

He's our special boy!

I took these a few weeks ago but didn't think about them until I saw Paulamouse's post below. This is Monty, who is actually a very 'appy cat, unless you disturb his nap :-)

Another Family Member

By Paulamouse written 10/27/05 9:10 PM, published 10/27/05 9:10 PM
Since I posted the theme last week my wife has been grexing about me missing one of the family members, so here he/she/it is. The name is Biscuits. It came as one of a pair that my wife named Biscuits & Gravy, but Biscuits ate gravy early on. She had another big fish named Panfish, but Biscuits ate him. She bought a few other fish since, yep, lunch.

Popup LinkBiscuits 1

So hey, that's what fish do, but, I am hoping to make it a bit more interesting. I'm thinking of throwing in a Piranha or two, or maybe a small Beluga. That should make life a bit more interesting for Biscuits.

Popup LinkGil Is BIG
From this pic you can get an idea of how BIG Gil is as he drinks from a regular sized pop can. He is 35 1/2 inches from tip of beak to end of tail.

Popup Link He doesn't always Pay Attention
He has a mind of his own and does not always pay attention.

Popup Link Gil likes to Go for rides
In this pic Gil is riding in my 1966 Corvair ( he refuses to wear a seat belt )

Popup Link Pretty Bird !!!
The same pic as the Thumbnail -
The White is skin the black are small feathers and are just like a fingerprint NO TWO birds are alike

Popup Link His Jimmy Durante Pose
Ha Cha Cha Cha Cha Jimmy Durante has NOTHING on me. For those to young to know Jimmy Durante was a gravely voiced actor/comedian with a big Proboscis ( nose ). Ha Cha Cha was his catch phrase. Jimmy would sign off every show with "Goodnight Mrs Calabash where ever you are" to his deceased wife -- she called him "Mr. Calabash" ( which is like a big gourd ). I seem to recall he had a top 40 hit with "When I was 17" back in the 70's -- ( look it up on "Limewire" or "Napster" )

Popup Link He Likes his Beer too
Gil can open up the cans by himself and you can see vid clips of him doing that on "My Profile page's Website' link -- just look for the Gilligan page. Note the BEER IS NON-ALCOHOLIC

Popup Link The smoking lamp is lit
Gil also gets cigarettes for me ( he doesn't smoke and keeps telling me NOT TO !!!!!!! Gil is very bright for A Blue and Gold - he has a 40 word vocabulary and about 16 phrases such 'What cha doin"
'How Are You"
I's So Pretty Bird"
"I love you"
"I want an apple"
He also quacks like a duck and laughs. He is the best friend a guy could have

Popup Link That spiked Look
Gil likes that spiked look occasionaly

Popup Link A bike ride
He likes to ride around the neighborhood on Bill's Shoulder and greet all the neighbors with BIG 'Hello's' and 'How Are You's

Popup Link Swimming in The Calosahatchee
Gilligan also enjoys a dip with Bill In the Caloosahatchee River - NEAR the Caper Coral YACHT cLUB beach

Finally, another post and a first theme post!

Although I haven't had photographs worth posting, I've felt guilty for not contributing.  And since I've never played with one of the themes (at least publicly), I thought it was time.  So here goes.  Grew up in a small town (surprise) and got my degree in interior design at Texas Tech.  Didn't work much in the field but still love to Popup Linktinker at my house.   Have been a photographer since I could hold a Popup Linkcamera, for better or worse.  I like to cook and to travel and love combining the two by visiting wineries, even some in Popup LinkOklahoma!  But, if I'm traveling I'd rather go to Popup LinkEngland than anywhere else in the world.   Was a community newspaper editor for 11 years before becoming a realtor, winding up back in that same old small town.  And I have three babies:  Popup LinkBoo, named after Boo Radley; Popup LinkGrace; and Popup LinkSydney.  There's been no major trauma, no real drama in  my world so maybe I'm lucky.  And, fortunately, sometimes, I'm a better photographer than this illustrates!

Another Fall Day!

By jimmyneutron written 10/22/05 9:15 PM, published 10/22/05 9:15 PM

It was just another fal day here in MIchigan...cloudy, cool and drizzle. I did get out and take some Popup LinkFall Color shots. Popup LinkAcrons are everywhere this year....the squirrels will be happy this winter. There was so much Popup LinkColor on the ground today....and in the Popup LinkTrees. As I left I took the Popup LinkStairs to the upper part of the park. Tyler took these cat photos...of Popup LinkCurious George and a big Popup LinkSmile.

Explaining Myself

By Paulamouse written 10/22/05 12:05 PM, published 10/22/05 12:05 PM
Not much of a story to tell. I grew up in the Pigeon Hills of South Central Pa, which I guess explains my love of the woods. Worked as a supervisor for a paper mfg. co. for 33 years, was downsized to retirement, started a second career as supervisor for a packing co. and will be at it for a bit more.

I started my education in Greensprings School, second row from the left, third boy from the back
Popup LinkGreenspring School (BTW, the school had no running water or indoor bathrooms) I always had the latest hair stylePopup LinkHair

As most here know, Cindy is the center of my life Popup LinkCindy My favorite snack is her cookies  Popup LinkCookie A few fine kids, Chris the electrician is the guy in the cap on left, and Mandy in college standing next to him and their spouses Popup Linkkids A mother-in-law who I dearly love even though she is silly as a goose Popup LinkThe Momma (What the hell made her buy that umbrella hat?) never work with children or pets

By austinspace written 10/16/05 8:43 PM, published 10/16/05 8:43 PM
I'm beginning work on a website for a local nonprofit that provides low-cost spaying and neutering services. I took some pix yesterday of friends and their pets. Here are some outtakes:

Popup LinkNipper1, Popup LinkNipper2, and  Popup LinkNipper 3. Nipper is a Jack Russell terrier.

Then there was  Popup LinkZuzu, who was recently adopted by Popup LinkKate. Kate's friend (whose name I've suddenly spaced) just got a terrific beagle pup named Popup LinkHarley. Here the friends pose together as one Popup Linkhappy Popup Linkfamily. More to come!

Winter

By StevenWolf written 4/16/04 11:26 AM, published 4/16/04 11:26 AM

This is Popup Linkmy dog, Winter. She was born deaf, so we've taught her hand signals. She can also read our facial expressions and judge wether we're pleased with her or if she's 'in trouble'.

Her eyes are keen and sensitive to light, shadow, and motion. She's making up for her deafness by paying very close attention to the world around her. She Popup Linkchases shadows or lights moving across the ground or walls. A spider crawling across the cieling will send her into a panic. She'll growl at a cobweb in the corner for hours.

In the thumbnail photo, she's just noticed something moving in the kitchen (probably just a shadow) and has lifted her head to study it.

Many people give up deaf animals because they think they are difficult and nervous animals. They're right, but all they need is a differnt approach in training and Popup Linklots of love.
