I attended the Australian Cycling Track titles during the week in Sydney. I had to play with the settings regularly to get consistent results. I need a much faster tele lens!! Current Olympic mens sprint champion Ryan Bailey (racing in black) was in action. Sprint_Racing

The Teams Pursuit is also a favourite event of mine to watch. Two teams line up on opposite sides of the track and race each other. The race can be won if the last rider of the other team is caught by the pursuing team, otherwise it is determined over a distance. The lead rider leads the team for a lap and then he swings up high on the bank before rejoining the end of the train. NSW_Pursuit_1 WA_Pursuit
I particularly enjoyed the AWD tandem class (Athletes With Disabilities). The rear cyclist is blind and is guided by the lead cyclist known as the Pilot.

More race photos.  I tried using auto settings, some sports settings, and not using my flash.  I am teaching myself the manual settings but am not sure what to use for action shots outside.  The day started very overcast but was bright by the end.  Add in shadows from the rowhouse stores around the square and there were even more shadows.  Suggestions are appreciated.  So are comments.

Since I want to improve my sports shots, I went over to Frankin to shoot their 2006 Frankin Classic.  They held  5K, 10K, and a kid's 1K.  I'll be posting some photos as I work on them over the next few days.  Let me know what you think.  I'm not sure how I feel about the photos.  Like I said, I'm trying to improve.

I think you have to have a lot of endurance to run like this.....

Every August beach goers and boats come to watch the  boat races or  Thunder on the Gulf.  Even the bugs joined in the fun.  I am not sure what  boat the bugs were cheering for but they were having the time of their lives.  Just for protection Fire and Rescue along with the Coast Guard were there to help in case of a problem.  I am glad to see that these guys relaxing and having a good time because they work very hard!  The beach was full of people that the chairs at the pool were empty.  On our way home I caught a something pink.

I know that some of the pictures are grainy.  I think this is due to the fact that I was trying to shoot from a distance and didn't have enough zoom to get a perfect ungrainy picture.  Anyway I hope you enjoy.  The race was fun like it is every year.

I had a great time at the race.  Well camping too!  Here are some of the shots I took.  This caught my eye first thing when I saw it.  It was the first thing I took pics of. The man that was driving it made it a tribute to his son who gave his life protecting ours.  It is covered with pics of him.  I noticed it said Hollywood Out on the back window and asked the dad why.  He said when his son would instant message them he always signed them at the end this way. I had to hold my camera up in the air and pray for the best when I took a pic of the hood of the truck with the pic of his troop. It was an amazing tribute.  The plate of the truck said simply "C R Hero".  The tailgate said his name and had more pics.  It was a amazing.

Celebrate Commemorate Memorial Day 2005 in Waterloo NY

Here are some of the 200+ photos I took in less than the 50 minute span of the race. We start with the registration process. Keep that glowing number in mind, because the next time we see it is for first place at the finish line. The same boy led the entire race, except for the race escorts. I definitly had some admiration for the people in this race, especially this older woman for running with the kids .

I tried to get pictures from the race that showed their surroundings, but still had the emphasis on the person. Woman Boy . And Lastly, a group shot I just liked the quality of.
