One of the "problems" I found on our road trip earlier this year was light.  Since we were, in fact, trying to get somewhere it was rare that I had good light for any of my pictures.  The only two places I was able to get good light was Death Valley & Redwood National Park, both of which we spend the night at.

Getting the lighting right at the ocean was hard.  I had to position Shannon in such a fasion that the light was comming at her perpendicular to the ocean AND get the ocean in the background!  There was only a few bluffs where I could do that.

Starting November 13th, I took a roadtrip across the nation - beginning in New Orleans, LA, and ending in Seattle, WA. I honed my skills at shooting my digital from moving vehicles - such as this shot of Popup Linka breezy (experimental aircraft) shot from an autogyro (another experimental aircraft) in Lafayette, LA. On a road trip through Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona, and up the Left Coast, one can see unusual things, such as a snowstorm in the Popup LinkMojave.

Shooting from the car was the norm on this trip, like these pictures from West Texas of Popup Linka tree and Popup Linkan oil well. This is Popup Linka railside grain mill also in West Texas, which we left to drive through the middle of nowhere and observe Popup Linka very memorable sunset in New Mexico. Occasionally, I'd get out of the car and get to shoot Popup LinkElana and Bisous having fun on a beach in the redwoods, or Popup Linkan eerie moonrise. There are many beautiful shots of the redwood forests, but I picked these Popup Linkmossy trees and this Popup Linktiny mushroom for an illustration of scale.
